Ontario's energy sector is investing heavily in building out its data and digital capability — and the need for engineers and developers who can build, maintain, and scale that infrastructure is growing.

Raise is building a pipeline of Data Engineers, Data Architects, and Software Developers for contract opportunities with a leading enterprise organization in Ontario's energy sector currently running an active data and digital modernization program. This is not a live posting for a single role. Apply once, and we will reach out as specific opportunities become available.

About the Opportunity

The organization is building and expanding a data platform based on Microsoft Azure and Databricks — spanning data lake architecture, ELT pipeline development, semantic modeling, business intelligence, AI application development, and enterprise system integration. The program requires professionals at multiple levels, from data engineers building pipelines to architects designing the overall data model to software developers building applications that consume the platform. None of these roles require a nuclear background — they require technical depth and the ability to work within a complex, governed enterprise environment.

What You Could Be Working On

Designing, building, and maintaining scalable ELT/ETL pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and related tools
Developing and optimizing data models for reporting, analytics, and downstream system use
Architecting data solutions across data lake, data warehouse, and lakehouse environments
Building AI and machine learning applications using large language models and Azure AI services
Developing full-stack enterprise applications using modern frameworks and cloud-native architecture
Implementing data governance, lineage tracking, and quality controls across the data platform
Integrating enterprise systems using REST APIs, Azure Integration Services, and event-driven architectures
Working within agile SCRUM delivery frameworks

What We're Looking For

3 to 10+ years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, or software development depending on the role
Proficiency in Python, SQL, and Spark/PySpark for data engineering roles
Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Synapse Analytics, and related Microsoft stack tools
Experience with AI/ML development, LLMs, or enterprise application development for software developer roles
Strong understanding of data governance, quality, and security principles
Experience working in agile delivery environments

Location: Oshawa CHQ — typically hybrid with 2 to 3 days remote
