Job Description:

Salary Range: $45.62 - $54.30

Position Summary:

Cambridge Memorial Hospital is seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Patient Accounts and Revenue Supervisor to lead a key revenue cycle within the hospital. This role is responsible for overseeing patient billing, collections, and compliance with internal controls while supporting system implementations and driving revenue optimization strategies. The role also supervises the Accounts Payable team. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, technical expertise, and a passion for improving financial performance in a healthcare setting.

Revenue Cycle Management

Oversee the complete billing cycle, ensuring timely and accurate patient invoicing, prompt collections and adherence to cash controls.
Develop and implement performance metrics and dashboards to monitor AR trends, aging and lead initiatives to reduce outstanding balances.
Analyze denial trends and implement corrective actions to reduce claim rejections
Effective management and routine review of the aged trial balance, identifying accounts requiring escalated collection efforts or assess bad debt on a routine basis.
Support clinical team in arranging payments plans and settlements.
Subject matter expert on Ontario hospital billing rules and practices, including OHIP
Spearhead audit readiness and ensure full compliance with provincial and federal healthcare billing regulations
Support internal audits and ensure adherence to cash controls and financial policies
Participate in special projects and assignments as required

System Implementation & Process Improvement

Design and document standardized operating procedures to enable streamlined and consistent processes
Identify opportunities for process improvements and support change management during implementation of improvements.
Participate in financial system upgrades and ERP rollouts
Identify automation opportunities and support digital transformation initiatives
Troubleshoot post-implementation issues and optimize system performance

Revenue Optimization

Develop and implement strategies to maximize revenue capture and reduce leakage
Monitor high-revenue service lines and recommend improvements
Partner with finance and clinical teams to align billing with service delivery and use of decision trees to support consistency in decision making related to patient payment plans
Support revenue forecasting and financial reporting

Accounts Payable Oversight

Supervise AP team and operations including invoice processing and reconciliations
Coordinate cheque runs, EFTs, and expense reimbursements in a timely manner
Review and analyze invoices for accuracy and completeness.
Provide support for vendor inquiries and vendor dispute resolution
Oversee month-end and year-end accruals and reporting

People & Culture Leadership

Mentor and develop team, fostering a high-performance culture, positive working environment and excellent patient service.
Lead routine team meetings to foster an engaged team and support solution finding.
Conduct orientation, training, and ongoing education for staff. Empower teams to take initiative to enhance and streamline their day-to-day processes.
Provide support and mentorship to team members learning new functions

Skills and Qualifications:

Diploma or degree in Finance, Accounting, Health Administration, or related field
3–5 years in hospital finance, with supervisory experience in AR or revenue cycle
Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, Meditech), HRCM, Excel
Familiarity with provincial billing standards (OHIP, MSP), Broader Public Sector Procurement Directive (BPS) guidelines, and audit practices
Strong interpersonal skills with ability to lead teams and collaborate across departments
