Full job description

Our client, a well-established commercial construction company in the Windsor area seeking an experienced Senior Accountant with Sage experience to take ownership of the accounting function.

This is a hands-on role supporting day-to-day operations, financial reporting, and project-based accounting in a growing business environment.

Key Responsibilities

Manage full-cycle accounting across multiple entities
Prepare financial statements and support month-end / year-end close
Oversee government remittances (HST, payroll)
Handle inter-company transactions
Perform job costing and track project financials
Manage holdbacks and subcontractor payments
Review and correct discrepancies to ensure financial accuracy
Supervise and assign work to junior accounting/administrative staff
Work closely with ownership and internal teams on financial reporting

Requirements

5+ years of accounting experience
Experience with Sage (required)
Construction or project-based accounting experience
Strong understanding of full-cycle accounting
Advanced Excel skills
Strong communication and ability to work independently

Assets

CPA designation or in progress
Experience with Procore or similar construction software
Experience supervising or mentoring staff

Work Environment

Full-time, on-site role (Monday–Friday)
Stable and established business
Team-oriented office environment
