The Department of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering in the Schulich School of Engineering at the University of Calgary has an opportunity for a Sessional Instructor position to teach ENME 471 L01 ¿Heat Transfer¿ in the Fall 2026 term.

Course Description:

Modes of heat transfer; conduction, convection, radiation. Conduction in plane walls and cylinders. Conduction-convection systems, fins. Principles of convection. Empirical and practical relations for forced convection heat transfer. Natural convection. Condensation and boiling heat transfer. Heat exchangers. The log-mean temperature difference method.

Course Schedule:

Lecture: Monday/Wednesday/Friday 1:00PM ¿ 1:50PM

The successful candidate will be expected to have earned at least a Master¿s in Mechanical Engineering and must have a demonstrated background in the subject matter related to the course. The successful candidate must also have very good previous teaching performance or show the potential for very good to excellent teaching ability.
