We are currently seeking an experienced Mobile Maintenance Planner to support our client, a growing mining operation. This is an open-ended contract opportunity with the potential to transition into a full-time, permanent position for the right candidate. This role operates on a 2x2 rotational schedule and requires a strong background in planning and coordinating maintenance activities for a diverse fleet of mobile equipment, including haul trucks, loaders, dozers, shovels, excavators, light vehicles, trucks, and trailers.
The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational and planning abilities, along with proficiency in MS Office and maintenance management systems such as SAP or other ERP platforms. Compensation is $65/hr + overtime paid after 8 hours per day on a 12-hour work schedule. Flights are covered, and accommodations are provided. Key responsibilities for this role will include:
- Develop, maintain, monitor and update the maintenance manual for the maintenance department, complete with business process flows, practices, policies & procedures and KPIs
- Provide technical/operational input into maintenance procedures and systems to ensure operational readiness
- Manage maintenance system including system data quality and seek out improvements to the system
- Create accurate plans for the scheduling and manpower forecasting for weekly, monthly, annual and long-term maintenance schedules
- Establish effective KPI reports for continual improvement
- Monitor and measure maintenance costs and adjust planning accordingly
- Analyze trends in equipment maintenance needs including breakdown, preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance, mean time between failure and mean time to repair
- Identify increasing maintenance costs for pieces of equipment and if merited participate in preparing cost justification reports to support sustaining capital expenditures to replace items
- Review and prioritize maintenance work requests with other team members
- Compile, update and distribute backlog reports and other mandated control reports
- Create and continually update maintenance programs and schedules and equipment parts lists
- Coordinate and schedule maintenance contractors
- Contribute to the LOMs plans by contributing to the 5 year plan as it relates to cost reduction and sustaining capital requirements
