Full job description

Reporting to the SQE Supervisor, this position is responsible for ensuring that suppliers meet aerospace quality, regulatory, and contractual requirements. This role works closely with procurement, engineering, and suppliers to prevent defects, manage supplier corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement across the supply base while maintaining compliance with AS9100, FAA, and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Manage supplier quality performance to ensure compliance with AS9100, FAA, and customer requirements
Conduct supplier audits, assessments, and surveillance (on-site and remote)
Review and approve supplier quality documentation, including FAIs (AS9102), PPAPs, and inspection plans
Lead supplier corrective action requests and verify root cause and effectiveness
Support supplier selection, qualification, and onboarding activities
Collaborate with Supply Chain and Engineering to resolve supplier-related quality issues
Monitor supplier quality metrics (PPM, OTD, escape rates) and drive improvement plans
Support risk management activities including supplier PFMEA and control plans
Ensure compliance with special process requirements (NADCAP, heat treat etc.)
Support incoming inspection and disposition of nonconforming material (MRB support)
Participate in customer, regulatory, and third-party audits as required
Ensure suppliers comply with ITAR, EAR, and contractual flow-down requirements

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, or a related technical field
3+ years of supplier quality or supply chain quality experience in an aerospace or regulated manufacturing environment
Strong knowledge of AS9100, AS9102, and aerospace supplier quality requirements
Experience conducting supplier audits and managing corrective actions
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T
Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with aerospace suppliers and manufacturing processes (machining, assembly, composites, special processes)
Familiarity with NADCAP requirements and supplier special process oversight
Experience with PPAP, APQP, and risk-based supplier management
Six Sigma, CQE, or other quality-related certifications
Experience with ERP/MRP systems and supplier quality tools
