Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Construction Safety Officer to oversee and promote safety protocols across construction sites. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with safety regulations, conduct safety inspections, and foster a culture of safety awareness among all personnel. This role is vital in minimizing risks, preventing accidents, and maintaining a secure working environment on all construction projects.

Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and enforce safety policies and procedures tailored to construction sites.
Conduct regular safety inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards.
Provide safety training sessions for new and existing employees to promote best practices.
Investigate accidents or incidents, prepare detailed reports, and recommend corrective actions.
Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and workers to address safety concerns proactively.
Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training sessions, and incident reports.
Stay updated on industry safety standards and incorporate changes into site protocols as needed.
Utilize construction management software to track safety metrics, document inspections, and manage compliance documentation.

Skills

Proven experience in construction safety management or related roles within the construction industry.
Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards.
Proficiency in construction management software for tracking safety data and documentation.
Excellent communication skills to effectively train staff and coordinate with diverse teams.
Ability to identify potential hazards quickly and implement effective mitigation strategies.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for maintaining comprehensive safety records.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in dynamic construction environments. This position offers an opportunity to contribute significantly to the safety culture of our construction projects while ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
