The Endpoint Solutions Architect / Modern Workplace Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, governance, and ongoing optimization of the organization's endpoint ecosystem. This role combines endpoint engineering, software lifecycle management, application deployment, vulnerability remediation, and workplace modernization to ensure secure, efficient, and cost-effective delivery of end-user computing services.
The successful candidate will serve as the technical lead for endpoint management technologies, software packaging and deployment, endpoint security, application lifecycle governance, and modern workplace initiatives. They will collaborate closely with Infrastructure, Security, Procurement, and Business stakeholders to maintain a secure, standardized, and highly automated endpoint environment.
- Design, implement, and support enterprise endpoint management solutions utilizing Microsoft Intune, Endpoint Manager, Windows Autopilot, SCCM/MECM, and related technologies.
- Develop and maintain endpoint architecture standards, device configuration baselines, compliance policies, and governance frameworks.
- Lead endpoint modernization initiatives, including migration from legacy device management solutions to cloud-native management platforms.
- Manage the full software lifecycle for desktop and cloud-based applications, including evaluation, onboarding, deployment, maintenance, renewal planning, and retirement.
- Maintain an inventory of desktop and SaaS applications, identifying opportunities for standardization, consolidation, cost optimization, and license reclamation.
- Partner with Procurement and business stakeholders to evaluate software solutions, manage renewals, and support software rationalization initiatives.
- Package, test, and deploy enterprise applications and security updates using AdminStudio, InstallShield, Wise Package Studio, Intune, SCCM/MECM, Ivanti EPM, or similar deployment platforms.
- Develop and maintain PowerShell automation scripts to streamline software deployment, endpoint configuration, remediation, and operational processes.
- Perform compatibility testing and validation to ensure applications function effectively across supported operating systems and endpoint configurations.
- Coordinate deployment of operating system updates, third-party application patches, and security remediations across the enterprise endpoint environment.
- Monitor vulnerability reports, security advisories, and patch compliance metrics while working closely with Cyber Security teams to meet remediation targets and service-level objectives.
- Troubleshoot application deployment failures, endpoint configuration issues, and software-related incidents.
- Establish and maintain software governance standards, including approved software catalogs, installation standards, and endpoint security requirements.
- Generate reporting and analytics related to software utilization, license consumption, endpoint compliance, application health, and cost optimization opportunities.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance for endpoint-related projects, cloud application migrations, and workplace technology initiatives.
- 5+ years of experience in Endpoint Engineering, Endpoint Administration, Modern Workplace, End User Computing (EUC), or Endpoint Architecture environments.
- Proven experience with software packaging technologies including AdminStudio, InstallShield, Wise Package Studio, or similar tools.
- Strong experience with Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Endpoint Manager (EPM), SCCM/MECM, Ivanti EPM, or equivalent endpoint management platforms.
- Advanced PowerShell scripting and automation experience.
- Experience managing desktop application deployment, software lifecycle management, and endpoint governance processes.
- Strong understanding of SaaS license management, including Microsoft 365, Adobe Creative Cloud, Lucid, and other enterprise cloud applications.
- Experience supporting vulnerability management, endpoint security controls, patch management, and compliance initiatives.
- Ability to analyze large software portfolios and identify opportunities for standardization, consolidation, license optimization, and cost reduction.
- Strong understanding of Windows endpoint management, device provisioning, application deployment, and operating system lifecycle management.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across Infrastructure, Security, Procurement, and Business teams.
- Experience acting as a liaison between technical teams, software vendors, procurement teams, and business stakeholders.

- Microsoft Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate
- Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert
- Experience with Windows Autopilot, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Entra ID (Azure AD), and Conditional Access.
- Experience leading endpoint modernization, digital workplace, or enterprise software lifecycle transformation initiatives.
- Knowledge of IT Asset Management (ITAM), Software Asset Management (SAM), and software governance best practices.
