Power systems are evolving, and the people building them matter more than ever.

Phasor Engineering is seeking a Field Commissioning Lead to support utility and infrastructure projects across North America. In this role, you will lead the testing and commissioning of MV/HV systems, protection & control schemes, and critical electrical infrastructure from construction through energization.

What You’ll Do

Lead field testing and commissioning activities for MV/HV systems and protection & control schemes
Support utility, industrial, and energy infrastructure projects across North America
Read and interpret drawings, schematics, and technical documentation
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during commissioning and startup
Support outage, energization, and commissioning activities
Mentor and support junior team members and field crews
Assist with commissioning procedures, startup documentation, and reporting
Coordinate with clients, project teams, and technical stakeholders
Ensure compliance with corporate, client, and industry safety standards

What We’re Looking For

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology Diploma, or Power Systems Electrician Journeyman certification
4+ years of commissioning leadership experience within utility or MV/HV environments
Strong hands-on relay testing and commissioning experience
Experience working with substations, protection & control systems, and utility infrastructure
Experience with Omicron testing equipment is considered a strong asset
Strong troubleshooting and technical problem-solving abilities
Strong communication and leadership skills
Ability to work extended rotations and travel to project sites as required

Requirements

This is a field-based position requiring travel and extended out-of-town work to various sites across the country. Candidates must be legally authorized to work for any employer in Canada. Background checks and Drug & Alcohol testing will be required as part of employment, and must have a valid driver’s licence with clean abstract.
