Located on the brink of one of the world’s greatest natural wonders, the Marriott on the Falls is a 404-guestroom full-service hotel, minutes away from area attractions, world-class wineries, golf and casinos. The Marriott on the Falls also offers sumptuous dining options at its on-site Milestones Fallsview Restaurant along with 23 private function rooms and boardrooms totaling over 40,000 square feet of meeting space including our 8400 sq. ft. Oakes Grand Ballroom with an additional 2700 sq. ft. foyer. We are currently searching for an Assistant Housekeeping Manager who has a passion for service with excellent presentation and interpersonal skills to lead our multicultural housekeeping team.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assist the Housekeeping Manager in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, coaching, disciplining, and motivating employees.
- Ensure guest accommodations and all areas front and back of house are maintained in accordance to Marriott standards at all times.
- Assist in overseeing the employees and activities of the Housekeeping and Laundry Department.
- Assist in monitoring each Room Attendant’s daily progress by inspecting completed rooms to assure that all standards have been met. When standards have been missed, brings employee back to room and coaches the employee on how to correct the room deficiencies.
- Ensures guest room status is communicated to the Front Desk in a timely and efficient manner.
- Works effectively with the Engineering department on guest room maintenance needs.
- Assists in monitoring the performance of Housepersons. Assures that there are sufficient supplies on the guest floors. Checks cleanliness of guest corridors, stairwells, elevators and Linen Closets.
- Ensures all employees have proper supplies, equipment and uniforms.
- Assists in supervising an effective inspection program for all guestrooms and public space.
- Manages linen inventory and guest supplies and assists in the ordering of supplies as necessary.
- Handles guest problems and complaints seeking assistance from supervisor as required.
- Assists in the review of comment cards and guest satisfaction results with employees.
- Demonstrating appropriate Marriott service behaviours.
- All others duties as assigned.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
- At least 4 years practical experience in supervisory role position with a world renowned brand hotel.
- Strong training and supervisory skills are essential in this role.
- Ability to motivate team and build morale.
- Proven experience of monitoring quality standards and identifying and dealing with any performance issues.
- Knowledge of Health and Safety relevant to the role.
- Good written and spoken English skills and computer proficiency with MS Excel and
- Word is mandatory in this role.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule – i.e. able to work morning/afternoon shifts, weekends, and holidays.
