Position: Assistant Restaurant Manager

No. of Positions: 1

Duration: Full Time

Location: 304 Stone Rd W, Guelph, ON, N1G 4W4

Salary: $23.50 per hour. The gross salary paid is subject to applicable Federal and Provincial income taxes and other statutory deductions.

Vacation: 4% of the gross salary

Hours of Work: 35.0-44.0 Hours a week; Overtime rate (X1.5) applicable after 44 hours of work per week

Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities

Ensure smooth operations of the restaurant. Managing and directing the activities of the staff. This includes assigning tasks, providing guidance, and ensuring that employees follow company policies and procedures.
Ensure that food products are prepared and served according to Dairy Queen's standards for quality and safety.
Interact with customers to ensure satisfaction and handle customer complaints effectively.
Training new employees, teaching them about Dairy Queen's products, food safety protocols, and customer service standards.
Handle customer complaints or inquiries and work to ensure a positive customer experience.
Schedule shifts and manage payroll.
Monitor inventory levels and place orders as necessary.
Ensure proper storage and handling of food and supplies.
Monitor sales and expenses to maximize profitability.
Responsible for opening and closing the cash register, handling cash transactions accurately, and reconciling cash drawers.
Promoting special offers or upselling menu items to increase sales.

Job Requirements

Completion of secondary school is required.
Minimum one year experience in food preparation or service including supervisory experience is required.
Requires good communication skills in English Language. Ability to deal with customers and food service employees.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Must be able to work any area of the restaurant when needed and to operate a computerized Point of Sale system/cash register.
