Foothills Medical Centre (FMC) is an Acute Care hospital with over 1,100 beds. It is the Trauma Centre for Southern Alberta, Eastern British Columbia and Western Saskatchewan. FMC has a Neuro Tertiary Unit as well as the majority of In-Patient Neurological services in Calgary. The present caseload for this position is in Neuropsychology Clinic, with the potential for coverage on any unit/service as required. The caseload for all positions within the Allied Health department may be subject to change based on operational considerations. Description:
As a Neuropsychologist you will provide advanced clinical services (including neuropsychological assessment, diagnosis, and/or intervention), consultation and education to the interprofessional team and patients/families. As an advanced level psychologist you will work within or along with teams to provide and inform services for patients with multi-dimensional medical, psychological, interpersonal, environmental and/or instrumental needs. You will consult, collaborate, and enact initiatives to ensure that practices are evidence based and in alignment with psychology standards of practice and code of ethics, as well as policy, legislation and regulations. As a Neuropsychologist you are expected to lead, facilitate, and/or participate in program, policy, and procedure development, service planning, staff development, quality improvement and evaluation, and/or research activities as identified by the needs of the service area(s). This position may provide supervision to doctoral level psychology residents, masters level interns, provisional psychologists, psychometrists and other team members.

Required Qualifications:
Doctoral degree in Psychology in an applied area relevant to the practice setting from a Canadian Psychological Association (CPA) or American Psychological Association (APA) program, with successful completion of an appropriate CPA or APA accredited residency, and successful completion of a two-year post-doctoral fellowship program with a focus in Neuropsychology (consistent with the Houston Guidelines). Registered or eligible for registration with the College of Alberta Psychologists.
Additional Required Qualifications:
PhD in Psychology from a recognized educational program. BLS for Health Care Providers Level C CPR certification issued within the last 12 months prior to commencement of employment. Independent practice in clinical neuropsychology.
Preferred Qualifications:
Competency with Connect Care and MS Office Suite programs. Experience working in a hospital setting within the last 12 months. Experience working with a wide variety of neurological populations including but not limited to Multiple Sclerosis, Epilepsy, Functional. Neurological Disorder, Dementia, & Neuroimmunology, neuromuscular disease, and motor neuron diseases. Experience supervising psychology students and/ or residents within the last 12 months.
