About the role

The successful candidate will contribute to our key projects as a member of our Test and Trials (T&T) Cross Product Team (CPT) as follows:

Lead manual and automated functional verification testing of combat system software
Lead manual and automated subsystem integration verification testing of combat system software
Lead manual and automated regression testing of combat system software

This job requires the candidate to lead the planning and execution of manual and automated testing in an agile software development environment. The candidate will act as a scrum master and requires a mix of strong technical skills and experience including computer programming, software architecture and design, problem solving, strong communication, and analytics. You will work in a Linux environment with multiple programming languages including Python, BASH, Java, and C++. Knowledge of combat management systems and mission systems software is considered an asset.

As the lead of an agile scrum team, your primary duties will include:

Support the IT&E lead in developing and executing the overall software test strategy
Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the test solution
Collect and present comprehensive metrics related to test execution
Support and lead junior staff in all areas of software testing
Develop and maintain the test backlog
Oversee the development and execution of the test automation codebase and test suites
Configure and maintain test pipelines in the continuous integration environment
Identify, assess, document, and re-test defects contributing to overall software quality control

What you bring to the role

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Computer Science or related engineering discipline and 5 years’ experience, or, Master’s degree in related engineering discipline and 3 years’ experience.
Must be willing to support schedule including evenings and weekends, as required
Must have an aptitude for solving challenging problems in a team environment
Must have a high degree of initiative and autonomy
Must be able to obtain NATO Secret security clearance

Additional skills desired for the role

Experience with software development and test
Experience with test automation
Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite
Familiarity with Linux
Familiarity with BASH and Python
Familiarity with Java and C++
Familiarity with Subversion and/or Git
Experience with DOORS is considered an asset
Experience with networks and networking tools is considered an asset
Experience with Agile Scrum methodology is considered an asset
Active NATO Secret security clearance is considered an asset
ISTQB CTFL/CTFL-AT certification is considered an asset
