Position Overview

Nestled in the heart of East Toronto, Michael Garron Hospital (MGH), a division of the Toronto East Health Network (TEHN), is a vibrant 450-bed community teaching hospital serving one of Canada’s most diverse communities. The Sr. Technical Analyst - Cybersecurity position is responsible for leading the development and maintenance of the cybersecurity strategy and cost-effective security operations of thehospital. Lead and support the organizational initiatives and strategic goals through the delivery of reliable and efficient IT security policies, processes and controls; and technology solutions; align with security best practices and standards (e.g. NIST, ISO 27001) and regulatory requirements (e.g. HIPAA, PHIPA, PIPEDA, etc.). Provide security and privacy knowledge, analysis, and risk management. Responsible for leading the processing of IT security events, requests, and escalations. Collaboratewith stakeholders, internal team, vendors and external security teams (security service providers, Local Delivery Group (LDG), etc.) to help improve the hospital’s cybersecurity and privacy posture and maturity.

Education

IT related degree or diploma with IT Security certification (e.g CISSP, CISM, GIAC etc.)
ITIL Certified

Experience

Minimum 5 years hands-on experience in IT security field, with demonstrated experience in security operations, governance, and compliance
In-depth knowledge of security principles, tools, and standards (NIST, ISO 27001)
In-depth knowledge of regulatory and industry frameworks (HIPAA, PHIPA, PIPEDA, etc.)
Extensive hands-on experience with security platforms, vulnerability scanners, and security protection tools
Extensive hands-on experience with access control, identify management, network security fundamentals, threat detection and response and risk management practices.
Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence without authority
Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills.
