Full job description

We are currently seeking experienced Journeyperson Pipefitters to join our fabrication team in Alberta’s energy sector.

This is a shop-based role focusing on fitting pipe spools at the fabrication table, working closely with welders to ensure precise alignment, proper tolerances, and efficient production.

We are an Alberta-based industrial contractor with over 25 years of experience in fabrication, construction, and maintenance across the energy sector. Our Nisku module fabrication yard supports major industrial projects across Western Canada, and we continue to grow our team of skilled tradespeople. Our fabrication crews take pride in producing pressure piping, pipe spool assemblies, and industrial modules in a safe, organized shop environment. We employ both full‑time tradespeople and subcontractors and offer steady, well‑organized work in a supportive environment.

What we offer:

Earn $45/hour as a Journeyperson
Local work – no camp
A comfortable 5 on, 2 off rotation, 10 hours/day
Competitive subcontractor rates available
Overtime paid at 1.5x after 40 hours/week
Consistent shop-based production work

What you get to do:

Perform fit-up of carbon steel and stainless-steel pipe spools for shop fabrication
Work side-by-side with welders at fabrication tables to prepare joints for welding
Read and interpret isometric drawings, blueprints, and weld procedures
Measure, cut, bevel, and prepare pipe using shop equipment
Ensure proper alignment, spacing, and tolerances prior to welding
Tack pipe components together prior to final welding
Verify material specifications and dimensions
Assist with staging materials and completed spools for inspection
Maintain clean and safe work areas in accordance with safety standards

What we’re looking for:

Valid Alberta Journeyperson Pipefitter Certificate (Red Seal if out-of-province)
Experience working in a pipe spool fabrication shop
Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation
CSTS-2020 Ticket
WHMIS 2015 Ticket
Successful completion of pre-access drug and alcohol testing
