Job Title: Environmental Services/Medical Cleaning

Our facility allows for a continuum of care from pre-operative assessments and screening, through operative procedures, to post-operative treatment and rehabilitation - creating a convenient and supportive environment of each patient visit. Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic Environmental Services/Medical Cleaning member to join our team. Candidates must be motivated to make a difference in each patient’s experience. You will work alongside a team of dedicated professionals who focus on the safety and service of each patient. You will work with a supportive management team that will provide flexibility and healthy work-life balance.

Employee Class: Casual (Monday to Sunday)

Shifts: Monday-Friday @ 4pm-midnight, Saturday @ 5-10pm, and Sunday @ 11am-7pm

Tentative Start Date: Ongoing

Responsibilities and Duties

Cleaning, sanitizing, and maintenance of public areas throughout the facility.
Dusting and wiping equipment, furniture, walls, vents, windows/windowsills, ledges, ceilings, doors/door frames, dispensers, counters, and waste containers.
Collection, transportation, and disposal of general, biomedical, and recycling waste.
Floor cleaning – sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, and scrubbing.
Disinfecting equipment, fixtures, and high-touch surfaces.
Stripping linen, remaking beds, and sanitizing patient stations.
Restocking all types of supplies and stationery.
Terminal cleaning of treatment rooms and operating theatres.
Completing non-routine and deep cleaning tasks.
Supporting clinic and nursing units with room/bed turnover through sanitization, restocking, and staging.
Working alongside all staff (nursing, service attendants, supply coordinators, etc.) to uphold all Infection Prevention and Control standards.
Complying with all Health and Safety protocols, accreditation regulations, and internal procedure guidelines.
Demonstrating unwavering respect and strong customer service to all patients and visitors through polite conversation.
Taking direction and swift action with all duties and requests.
Following daily written and verbal routines with the ability to reprioritize quickly.
Maintaining excellent rapport with surgeons and patients.
Supporting the facility as needed.

Required Qualifications

Physical ability to stand and walk for the duration of shift time.
Perform repetitive physical movements.
Offer a high level of cleaning and disinfecting skills.
Able to effectively and efficiently multitask, organize and work under pressure and/or time constraints.
Attention to detail.
Exceptional use of judgement.
Demonstrate strong initiative in the workplace.
Excellent communication, independent decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
Reliable, punctual, and supportive of others.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
