1.0 FTE Montessori Early Primary Teacher
The Montessori Teacher is responsible for creating and maintaining a nurturing, prepared environment that aligns with Montessori philosophy and encourages independence, curiosity, and a lifelong love of learning in children. The Teacher guides the classroom using child-centered, developmentally appropriate practices, and provides leadership and mentorship to support staff and assistants.
Responsibilities:

Plan, prepare, and deliver Montessori lessons in accordance with the curriculum and the needs of each child.

Maintain a clean, organized, and stimulating Montessori environment.

Observe and assess students' development, documenting progress and adjusting lessons as needed.

Foster respectful and positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.

Model and reinforce grace and courtesy in the classroom.
Skills:

Classroom Management: Confidently leads a group of children using clear structure and gentle guidance.

Observation & Assessment: Strong ability to observe, interpret, and respond to each child's developmental needs.

Adaptability: Flexible and responsive to individual children's needs and classroom dynamics.

Creativity: Brings new ideas and enrichment activities into the Montessori setting while staying true to its philosophy.
Qualifications:

Montessori Certification from an accredited institution (e.g., AMI).

Experience working with children in a Montessori classroom (typically 1-3 years preferred).

Strong understanding of child development and the Montessori philosophy.

Ability to work collaboratively with a team and support a positive classroom culture.
