We’re hiring a permanent, full-time Specialist, HR Systems based in Edmonton, AB. Reporting to the Associate Director, HR Systems & Analytics, you will play a key role in supporting and optimizing EPCOR’s HR systems and leading the implementation of ERP functionality.
As the Specialist, HR Systems, you will provide subject matter expertise on HRIS platforms, ensuring system integrity, troubleshooting issues, and identifying opportunities for process improvement. You will also support the implementation of a new ERP system by coordinating across HR, Payroll, IT, and external partners to ensure successful delivery. This role requires strong analytical capabilities, technical expertise, and the ability to translate business needs into system solutions.
What you’d be responsible for

Contribute to the development and alignment of the HR Systems & Analytics strategy, ensuring clear understanding across HR Shared Services and the broader organization.
- Support budget and resource planning by identifying people, technology, and funding requirements to sustain departmental capabilities.
- Partner with stakeholders to analyze business needs, workflows, and system gaps, and recommend improvements to HR technology solutions.
- Lead and support HRIS enhancement projects, including managing end-to-end project delivery, milestones, stakeholder coordination, risk management, and issue escalation while ensuring delivery within timelines, scope, and defined performance metrics

Support HR data integrity and accuracy by coordinating system updates, validating data, and implementing effective data management processes.
- Participate and/or lead ERP implementation activities, including process mapping, system design and configuration, data migration, troubleshooting and assessing Go/No-Go readiness

Coordinate and oversee User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities tied to system enhancements/updates and coordinate with IT and end users to complete testing, issue resolution, and system readiness.
- Develop and maintain system documentation, user guides, and standard operating procedures to support consistent and efficient system use.
- Design and deliver training and change management initiatives to enhance system adoption, user experience, and overall effectiveness.
- Ensure compliance with policies, regulatory requirements, and audit standards by developing and monitoring HR systems processes and controls.
What’s required to be successful
Education and Credentials

A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Technology or a related field.
Experience
-
Minimum 5 years of experience working with HR Information Systems in a large corporate environment.

Experience with enterprise HR platforms such as Oracle Cloud, SAP SuccessFactors, or Workday.

Experience supporting or leading system implementations or major enhancements.
-
Experience with analytics and reporting tools (e.g., BI tools, SQL, advanced Excel).

Experience coordinating cross-functional projects involving multiple stakeholders.
Technical & Professional Skills

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work with large datasets and complex systems.

Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot HRIS issues and resolve data or system-related problems.

Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions and system configurations.

Strong communication and consulting skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical audiences.

Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet timelines, and deliver results.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and integrity.
Assets

Experience implementing cloud-based ERP platforms (e.g., Oracle Cloud Fusion).

Experience with AI-enabled tools within HR or ERP systems.

Oracle HCM Cloud Certification or related certifications.

Project Management Professional (PMP) designation.

For this role, the successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the hybrid Where We Work Program after completing 3 to 6 months in the position and meeting the program’s eligibility criteria.
