We currently have a need for a Site Supervisor in our Edmonton region! Reporting to our Superintendent and/or Field Manager, you will lead and direct small construction projects to completion in the commercial sector in the Edmonton area. You may work closely with our Project Development Team, Pre-Construction and Operations departments. Carlson is proud to have an especially collaborative team and we’re looking forward to adding to this knowledge and experience! We are seeking an individual who has Intermediate experience as a Site Supervisor, with the ability to direct the work of others, be self-directed and work independently. The chosen candidate will lead by example and has a proven track record.

Specifically, the Site Supervisor will:

Provide help in managing the small project construction activities (less than $1m) onsite to attain client, company and contractual expectations on budget, quality, schedule and safety
Control and monitor labour, material, and equipment expenses
Understand the project plan and specifications
Monitor and manage schedules and milestones, as well as monitor progress against established schedules
Create and execute project plans, and revise as appropriate to meet changing requirements
Supervise the activities and coordinate the work of subcontractors and subordinate staff
Proactively identify, address, and resolve issues and problems as or before they occur
Maintain control and responsibility for the security and operation of Carlson’s directly owned equipment on the job site
Where required, attend client meetings when required to assist with determination of project requirements, take down necessary information, and address issues
Schedule inspections as necessary throughout the process
Track the progress and quality of work being performed by design disciplines/trades
Review, manage, and adjust with the Project Manager manpower requirements
Identify resources needed and delegate individual responsibilities
Work with the Project Administrator and Project Manager to ensure that deliveries are expedited and coordinated

Requirements:

2+ years of relevant experience in Intermediate Site Supervisory roles, in the commercial and/or institutional construction sector.
Excellent written and oral communication skills and attention to detail are a must.
Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills are required.
Negative/Clear Drug & Alcohol test
