Full job description

Overview: 

The Administrator Support Officer will provide administrative support to the Camp Coordinator and Computer Training Instructors in the execution of ACCN’s virtual and in-STEM summer camps. We are looking for someone who is: 

Adaptable: able to achieve or adjust goals and behaviours when expected or unexpected change occurs, by planning, staying focused, persisting, and overcoming setbacks. For example, one uses this skill to change work plans to meet new deadlines, learn how to work with new tools and improve skills through feedback. 
Collaborative: able to contribute and support others to achieve a common goal. For example, at work we use this skill to provide meaningful support to team members while completing a project. 
Communicative: able to receive, understand, consider, and share information and ideas through speaking, listening, and interacting with others. For example, we use this skill to listen to instructions, serve customers and discuss ideas. 
Creative and Innovative: able to imagine, develop, express, encourage, and apply ideas in ways that are novel, unexpected, or challenge existing methods and norms. For example, we use this skill to discover better ways of doing things, develop new products, and deliver services in a new way. 
Technical: able to develop capabilities that relate to the practical or mechanical side of an activity, the application of a set of technical processes and its required know-how.

Key Responsibilities: 

Lead the planning, creation, and posting of daily social media content (photos, videos, captions, stories) across platforms to highlight camp activities and engage audiences. 
Support the development and execution of marketing campaigns to increase program awareness and registration. 
Coordinate all camp communications, ensuring timely, clear, and consistent messaging with families, staff, and participants. 
Work collaboratively with co-workers and Director, to develop and maintain programs and expectations. 
Participate in on-going program evaluation and program development efforts, including the development of workshops and specialized activities designed to meet the needs of students. 
Assist in data collection and the completion of reports on activities and programs. 
Other tasks as assigned, from time to time. 
Managing the Zoom platform for virtual classrooms and ensure smooth online 
Operations, including organizing breakout rooms, managing attendance, and ensuring all online safety protocols are followed.

Qualifications: 

Strong experience with social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, etc.) and content creation. 
Experience in developing, implementing, managing, and evaluating programs for high school aged youth. 
Direct experience and knowledge of supporting youth within an educational, setting. 
Proficient at a high level with digital communication methods & platforms. 
Knowledge of and experience in de-escalation methods. 
Experience understanding group dynamics, and anti-oppression principles. 
Strong interpersonal, and communication skills. 
Understanding of and grounding in adolescent development. 
Ability to work collaboratively within, and across teams. 
Demonstrated skills in social service or community service program design and implementation geared towards at-risk, marginalized or street involved youth.

Duration: (July 2026 – August 2026) 

Eligibility:

Under Canada Summer Jobs, the candidate must be one who :

is between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment;
is a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act *; and
is legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial / territorial legislation and regulations.

* International students are not eligible. Recent Immigrants are eligible if they are Canadian Citizens or permanent residents.
