In this high-impact role, you'll lead every stage of our self-performed concrete projects, from the initial vision to the finish line. Reporting to: Manager, Self-Perform Operations

Duties & Responsibilities:

· Supporting business development activities by maintaining long lasting relationships with clients, the design community, engineers, and other organizations which enhance future self performed concrete opportunities

· Working with the Estimating and Project Development teams to secure self performed concrete work

· Overseeing the preconstruction phase and providing leadership to project teams, ensuring execution on the construction and turnover of self performed concrete work

· Develop and/or promote and advance the latest industry technologies, systems, processes, and innovations to ensure Clark Builders maintains its position as an industry leader in construction

· Build diverse, high performing teams, through coaching, training and development opportunities and creating opportunities for new and challenging experiences

· Leading and working with project teams to:

o develop project specific safety and quality plans

o set profit and productivity goals

o evaluate and select formwork systems

o complete the material, subcontractor, and equipment procurement

o assemble the appropriate field crew and field supervision team

o works with senior operations leaders to hold project teams accountable for meeting the minimum productivity, profit, safety, quality, and schedule goals

· Promote, live, and instill Clark Builders Core Values: Can-Do Attitude, Respect Others, Succeed as a Team, Lead with Courage, Deliver Results)

· Success will be measured on:

o Client satisfaction

o Financial performance

o Safety performance

o Quality performance

o Creating positive and engaging development opportunities, mentoring and assisting staff in the advancement of their careers

o Successfully leading operational improvement initiatives related to self performed concrete

o Develop standards and maintain records for all self performed concrete: start-up and closeout documentation, productivity data collection, information sharing

o Performance management of staff and direct reports; set personal and team goals/strategies in alignment with annual Key Result Areas (KRA’s)

o Liaison with Turner Construction’s Self-Perform Concrete peer group across North America monthly

Skills & Knowledge:

· Proven ability to manage complex, multi-storey, institutional and commercial self-perform concrete projects with a variety of formwork systems

· Proven leadership skills, with a strong focus on mentoring and motivating

· Demonstrated ability to manage key relationships, including clients, business partners, government agencies, and subtrades

· Ability to identify key issues; creatively and strategically overcome internal and external challenges or obstacles

· Sound understanding of risk management related to self-performed concrete work

· Knowledge of Human Resources policies, practices, and procedures

· Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy

· High level of integrity, confidentially, and accountability

· Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills

· A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills

· Outstanding listening and communication skills are essential

· Questions conventional approaches, explores alternatives and provides innovative solutions

Qualifications:

· A post-secondary degree or diploma in construction or engineering.

· Minimum of 10 years in construction with at least 5 years managing progressively larger and more complex self-performed concrete projects.

· Estimating experience in self-performed concrete

· On site Project Coordination, or Project Management experience

· Previous experience working on a remote or logistical challenging project

· Experience with Last Planner® System an asset

· Experience with Procore® Construction Management Software an asset

· Ability to travel on a regular basis throughout Alberta, BC and NWT
