As an Enterprise Architect, you will provide enterprise-level advisory services to bureaus, divisions, and technology teams, ensuring that technology initiatives, modernization efforts, and AI-enabled capabilities align with the organization's strategic direction, roadmap commitments, and risk posture. Reporting to the Manager, Enterprise Architecture, you will translate operational needs into defensible architectural guidance, support responsible AI adoption, and ensure early alignment with privacy, information management, cybersecurity, and public trust requirements. Primary duties include:

Work closely with business units to understand operational challenges, risks, clarify desired outcomes, and translate requests into well-defined problem statements and solution approaches.
Conduct and lead structured intake discussions, support business case thinking where needed, and provides advisory guidance.
Identify duplication and Shadow IT/Shadow AI patterns early and redirecting demand into approved, governed pathways that support enterprise consistency.
Lead and influences cross functional delivery teams, business stakeholders, and technical resources through collaboration, guidance, and mentorship rather than direct authority.
Foster alignment across internal teams and external vendors by articulating architectural direction, resolving questions, and ensuring a common understanding of desired outcomes.
Identify material architecture risks, recommend feasible mitigations, cybersecurity methodologies, and supports governance and oversight activities by ensuring the rationale for key decisions and control selections is clearly documented.
Support the responsible introduction and scaling of AI-enabled capabilities by guiding teams through AI opportunity assessment, AI agent readiness considerations, and implementation planning that aligns to governance requirements.
Apply organizational AI governance frameworks by ensuring appropriate risk classification, defined human oversight, auditability/logging expectations, data boundary controls, and vendor due diligence requirements are addressed before solutions progress.

Qualifications

A degree in computer science, mathematics, electrical engineering or a related discipline and a minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in enterprise architecture, cybersecurity risk management, AI agent development, senior business analysis/technology advisory, or related roles.
Practical knowledge of AI/ML concepts and implementation risks is required, including awareness of privacy, security, bias/fairness, monitoring, and vendor diligence considerations.
Risk and security certifications are preferred, including Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and/or comparable risk-focused credentials such as Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC).
Experience in public sector environments, policing/justice contexts, records/information management alignment, and vendor evaluation/procurement support is considered an asset.

Compensation: Pay Grade 12 $48.54 - 64.88 per hour

Hours of work: Standard 35 hour work week.

Days of work: This position works a 5 day work week with 1 day off in a 3 week cycle.

Location: 5111 47 Street N.E.
