Role Summary
As the B&P Line Technical Leader, you are responsible for managing maintenance performance and costs within your area (Brewing, Fermentation, Filtration, Blending, and De-Alc). This includes strategically planning weekly service windows and scheduling periodic equipment overhauls. A key part of your role is shifting maintenance from reactive to preventative and predictive approaches. You will troubleshoot issues, set maintenance standards, and analyze equipment breakdowns to prevent future problems. You will also coach operators to support strong performance and ensure maintenance plans are followed effectively. In addition, you will contribute to projects, including capital investments (Capex) and new product development (NPD).This role requires a proactive mindset to improve line efficiency and control costs.
Accountabilities:
- Responsible for review and overhaul of B&P Preventative Maintenance routines – evaluating quality of PMs, missing PMs, accuracy to OEM recommendations, frequency, time requirements, resource requirements, PM SOP requirements, and any standard improvement/building. Shift from reactive maintenance approach to preventive/predictive/time/condition based maintenance through these efforts.
- Use A, B, C criticality method to determine priority machines and focused gap closures based off of priority level.
- Effectively communicate and execute work order and preventive maintenance plans, ensuring high-quality results, provide feedback on the actual time/resources taken and lead any recommended improvements.
- Lead technical support for escalated technical issues/troubleshooting efforts in area of responsibility – liaison with maintenance trades and B&P operators to understand challenges and opportunities – act as a role model to guide, support, and teach methodical and systematic troubleshooting approaches to minimize downtime.
- Involvement with scoping, implementing, and commissioning of CAPEX projects - in coordination with the B&P Process Engineering Lead, and Engineering team.
- As the subject matter expert help develop the capabilities of individuals across the organization to build momentum and foster growth.
- Verify the implementation of operational control checks, including the adjustment of parameters to meet established standards.
- Build robust overhaul planning (calendar, costs, resource requirements, parts BOMs) – and lead the execution of these activities in collaboration with Maintenance Manager. Ensure follow-up processes and continuous improvement approaches are taken to improve quality, time, and cost of these activities.
- Suggest and build operator maintenance tasks (CILs) in collaboration with B&P Process Engineering Lead, adhere to prescribed standards through both process confirmation and compliance checks.
- Keep the maintenance team informed of work priorities, issues, and objectives through team leads or the Maintenance Manager.
- Ensure compliance with maintenance standards in the designated area, actively driving SOP development and confirming processes.
- Promote collaboration and integration between production and maintenance teams.
- Develop and validate Standard Maintenance Procedures.
- Actively support and contribute to Carlsberg Excellence and Continuous Improvement focus areas.
- Evaluate spare parts inventory for B&P machines, in collaboration with Maintenance Planning and Inventory Specialist. Identify critical parts gaps, excess parts stock, cost savings opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education preferred, in mechanical/process/chemical areas or food technologies. Candidates will be considered without post-secondary experience if they have relevant and very robust maintenance and manufacturing experience.
- 3 years of experience within a production/manufacturing environment.
- Experience in implementing Continuous Improvement programs.
- Consumer Goods manufacturing experience. Preferably within Food and Beverage industry.
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and process systems is an asset.
- Results driven, self-starter with an innovative mindset.
- Demonstrated planning, and time management skills.
- Strong communication (verbal and written) and collaboration skills.
