About us

Urban International School (UIS) is a private high school in Toronto inspected by the Ontario Ministry of Education in Ontario, Canada. Over the last decade, we have offered specialized academic courses that are designed for students who wish to pursue higher education in Canada and around the world. Based on the program students wish to pursue in post-secondary school, UIS prepares a customized study plan that underlies one of our four streams: Engineering, Science/Math, Business, Arts or College. Most of our graduates are accepted in prestigious universities such as the University of Toronto, University of British Columbia, McGill University, among many other Canadian and international universities.

UIS has a friendly and dedicated team of Ontario-certified teachers who teach courses from Grade 7 to Grade 12 to a diverse student body that includes students from Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and South America.

About the Position

Urban International School (UIS) is seeking a talented and creative Junior Multimedia Designer to join our Marketing team. The ideal candidate is a versatile designer with strong skills in graphics, video production, multimedia work, and social media content creation. This is a long-term full-time position.

Responsibilities and Duties

1) Graphic & Multimedia Design

Design and produce high-quality graphics for digital ads, posters, newsletters, brochures, backdrops, presentations, and other marketing materials
Create and edit multimedia content including videos, animations, and photography.
Develop clean, professional PowerPoint presentations for marketing and admissions

2) Video Production & Photography

Participate in school events to capture photos and videos.
Manage pre-production, filming, and post-production workflows.
Plan and film promotional content showcasing programs, events, and student life.
Strong understanding of camera operation, lighting, and filming angles.

3) Website & Social Media Management

Regularly update website content (text, images, multimedia) using WordPress.
Responsible for managing, updating, and maintaining the school's WordPress-based website, including content updates, page edits, and plugin management
Create engaging content for Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube.
Produce Reels, Shorts, and short-form content to increase visibility.
Manage posting schedules and monitor analytics to improve engagement.
Stay up-to-date with social media trends and apply creatively.

4) School Media Club & Events

Lead and manage the UIS School Media Club with students.
Support and coordinate school events in collaboration with event teams.

5) Collaboration & Brand Management

Ensure all creative work aligns with UIS brand standards.
Work closely with academic, marketing, and admissions teams to execute campaigns.
Communicate clearly with multiple departments to meet goals and deadlines.
Bring fresh, innovative ideas and stay current with design trends.

6) General

Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Willingness to take initiative and go the extra mile when needed.
Other duties as assigned by senior management.

Experience Requirement:

· College Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, Web Design, Videography, or a related field.

· A Recent Graduate is always welcomed for this position.

· Previous experience in video production and UX/UI Design is preferred.

Knowledge, Skill and Ability Requirements:

1) Proficiency with graphic design software, especially for the video editing and production including Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, and After Effects).

2) The second language would be an strong asset such as Korean, Mandarin, Cantoniees, Japanese, Vietnamese and others.

3) Eagerness to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

4) Basic understanding of server-side management and hosting environments.

5) Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft design-related marketing content.

6) Self-starter with a proactive approach and ownership of responsibilities.

7) Strong interpersonal skills.

8) Highly organized and detail oriented.

9) Punctual and professional in demeanour.
