The Role

We are seeking an innovative systems designer to join our development team in Waterloo. The focus of the position is the design and development of system solutions for our ultra-low power analog, DSP, MCU and wireless communication integrated circuits.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do

Build world class product solutions for our SoC including MCU, DSP, and wireless components
Contribute to the development of system architecture including IC architecture, board-level system design and defining interactions between hardware & software
Lead systems development for cross discipline projects that involve IC, board level, firmware, software
Contribute to system level verification and validation of our products
Provide technical content for documentation
Support customer issues or requests

Qualifications

What You’ll Need

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, System Engineering, or related discipline
10+ years of experience in a related technical field
What Else You May Bring
Knowledge in low power microprocessor architecture and analog circuits
Familiarity of development flow for IC level and sub-components (IPs)
Knowledge in low power integrated circuit design using either Verilog/System Verilog or VHDL
Familiarity with feasibility of new products and development of specifications based on product requirements
Experience in leading complex projects and collaborating with cross-functional teams
Familiarity with FPGA development and embedded firmware is an asset
Familiarity with test automation using scripting languages such as Python is an asset
Knowledge of PCB design and simulation tools is an asset
Knowledge of wireless communication protocols such as Bluetooth is an asset
General hands-on debug skills for board bring up
Familiarity with general lab equipment
Familiarity with developing solutions to quality-driven processes or standards
Good problem-solving skills
Good written and oral communication skills

onsemi is excited to share the base salary range for this position is $130,100.00 - $170,100.00 exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses. The final pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on geographic location, skills, education, experience, and/or consideration of internal equity of our current team members. We also offer a competitive benefits package.
