Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Journeyperson Electrician to join our team. This role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems across various residential and commercial projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with electrical systems, schematic reading, and a strong understanding of safety protocols. The position offers opportunities to work on diverse projects, including renovation, construction, and automation systems, utilizing a broad skill set to ensure reliable electrical operations.

Duties

Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical wiring, panels, and equipment in compliance with electrical codes and schematics
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams for installation and maintenance tasks
Work with low voltage systems, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and automation controls
Utilize hand tools, power tools, and specialized electrical equipment to complete projects efficiently
Perform renovation and upgrade of existing electrical systems in industrial or commercial settings
Conduct inspections to identify potential issues and implement corrective actions promptly
Collaborate with construction teams during new builds or renovations to ensure seamless integration of electrical components
Maintain detailed documentation of work performed for compliance and future reference
Follow all safety procedures and regulations to maintain a safe work environment

Experience

Proven experience as a residential electrician or in a similar electrical role with a strong background in construction or renovation projects
Demonstrated ability to read blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams accurately
Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment used in electrical work
Knowledge of low voltage systems and programmable logic controllers (PLCs) is highly desirable
Familiarity with electrical codes, safety standards, and best practices for industrial environments
Experience working on renovation projects or within construction sites is preferred
Handyman experience or general maintenance skills are considered an asset

This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving, excellent attention to detail, and a commitment to safety. Candidates should possess the necessary skills to handle complex electrical systems confidently while adhering to all relevant regulations.

Pay: $20.00-$35.00 per hour
