In this position...

The successful candidate will lead a team of embedded developers, and drive overall Telematics Control Unit (TCU) organizational engineering excellence , enabling the delivery of high-quality TCU software releases as part of the Connectivity Platform organization. This role combines technical leadership, strategic direction, and people development to ensure scalable, reliable, and customer-focused solutions.

What you'll do...

The primary responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:

Provide technical leadership, strategic direction, and operational guidance to the development team.
Help define and drive the technical roadmap for TCU software feature and platform development.
Oversee implementation of key TCU features, including software updates, stolen vehicle recovery, and diagnostics.
Drive process improvements, engineering best practices, and operational excellence.
Establish and maintain high standards for code quality, debugging capabilities, and code coverage.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, systems, hardware, security) to deliver integrated solutions.
Communicate technical decisions, risks, and trade-offs clearly to stakeholders and leadership.
Recruit, hire, onboard, and mentor team members; foster a culture of ownership and continuous improvement.
Identify, manage, and mitigate risks; proactively resolve bottlenecks to ensure on-time delivery.
Own end-to-end TCU feature delivery and ensure features meet customer expectations for reliability, performance, and security.

You'll have...

Education-Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field of study.

Experience-

10+ years' hands-on embedded software development experience in C/C++ and object-oriented design.
7+ years' experience leading embedded software development teams.
Proven track record of designing software architecture, managing system integration, and debugging complex distributed systems through at least 2 complete product lifecycles.

Education-Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field of study.

Experience-

Experience with modern development, CI/CD, and collaboration tools, including SonarQube (static analysis), gcov (code coverage), Jenkins (CI/CD and job scheduling), JIRA (work tracking), and GitHub (version control).
Experience with automotive embedded systems and software validation/testing
Experience with embedded Linux operating systems
Experience applying AI/ML techniques to software development and engineering
Experience with cloud platforms and data analytics/visualization tools
