Simplii Financial is a modern, customer-first organization where great experiences are built on strong processes. The Business Analysis team acts as the connective tissue that keeps our squads moving with clarity and rigor, translating customer and business needs into clear, actionable requirements that enable simple, reliable, and genuinely better banking experiences. As a Business Analyst, Process Engineering at Simplii, you'll be embedded in a squad, supporting end-to-end business analysis activities, documenting requirements, identifying sources of friction in existing processes, and contributing to designing improvements that make banking clearer and faster for the customers who depend on us. You'll work closely with product, technology, operations, and partner teams, bringing careful attention and genuine curiosity to every piece of work you touch. As a member of the Business Analysis team, you'll be supported in your craft development and career growth by your Director. Day-to-day, you'll be accountable to your squad and the outcomes it is responsible for delivering.
At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You'll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you'll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.
How you'll succeed
Business Analysis Support – Assist with requirements gathering, documentation, and process assessment under the guidance of senior team members. Complete assigned tasks accurately and on time, while developing your ability to translate complex business and customer needs into clear, actionable requirements.
Process Improvement – Identify sources of friction in existing processes and contribute to designing improvements that make things simpler and faster for customers and internal teams. Apply standard business analysis methodologies and seek feedback to continuously improve the quality of your work.
Stakeholder Collaboration – Communicate clearly with those around you, participate actively in squad ceremonies and stakeholder meetings, and strive to understand what partners and customers truly need before proposing solutions.
Technical and Business Fluency – Build your foundational understanding of business processes and technical concepts. Ask insightful questions, clarify requirements thoroughly, and develop systems thinking that connects people, process, data, and technology across end-to-end workflows.
AI and Continuous Learning – Explore and apply AI-enabled tools to improve the speed and quality of your analysis work. Share your learnings with your team and approach every sprint as an opportunity to grow your craft and capability.
Documentation and Quality – Produce clear, well-organized documentation—including requirements, process flows, and supporting materials—that enables your squad to move with confidence and minimize unnecessary complexity.
Who you are
You have relevant experience. You bring experience in business analysis, process improvement, or a closely related field, and a genuine interest in building a career in business analysis practice within a complex, regulated environment.
You put the customer first. You understand that the requirements you gather, the processes you map, and the improvements you recommend exist to serve real people. You keep this perspective present in your work and bring it into squad conversations, even when the work feels technical or process heavy.
You're a systems thinker. You naturally consider how people, process, data, and technology connect across an end-to-end workflow, and you look for upstream causes before proposing downstream fixes.
You're curious and analytical. You ask thoughtful questions, look for root causes, and enjoy breaking complex problems into clear, actionable components. You're comfortable with ambiguity and motivated to create clarity.
You're eager to learn and grow. You approach feedback as useful information, every sprint as a chance to improve, and every new tool—including AI—as an opportunity to enhance the quality and speed of your work.
You're a dependable teammate. You show up prepared, follow through on your commitments, and contribute to a squad culture where people trust each other to deliver.
Values matter to you. You bring your real self to work, and you live our values - trust, teamwork, and accountability.
