Overview
FARI LAW Professional Corporation, an Ontario-based firm, is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-sufficient Law Clerk to support our growing practice.
This role is primarily focused on family law, with opportunities to assist in real estate, business and/or civil litigation, depending on experience and firm needs.
We are a modern, performance-driven, and predominantly remote firm, and we are looking for a clerk who can operate with a high degree of independence while supporting a fast-paced and growing team.
Work Structure
- Remote-first position
- Attendance required for:
- In-person meetings (1–2 times per month)
- Occasional support for court-related or closing-related matters (if applicable)
Key Requirement (Critical)
The successful candidate must be capable of independently managing files and supporting lawyers with minimal supervision or direction.
This role requires someone who:

- Can manage competing priorities efficiently
Responsibilities
Family Law (Primary Focus)
- Independently manage the day-to-day conduct of assigned family law files
- Draft and prepare a wide range of documents, including:
- Pleadings, affidavits, motions, and conference briefs
- Separation agreements and domestic contracts
- Financial Statements and Net Family Property calculations
- Prepare DivorceMate calculations and financial disclosure summaries
- Organize and compile complex financial disclosure and document briefs
- Draft professional correspondence to clients, opposing counsel, and courts
- Maintain ongoing communication with clients and stakeholders
- Monitor deadlines and maintain accurate task lists
- Docket time accurately and consistently
Additional Practice Areas (Strong Asset)
Real Estate (if applicable)
- Assist with residential real estate transactions
- Prepare closing documents and coordinate with lenders and clients
- Support file management from opening to closing
- Teraview, title insurance experience
Civil Litigation (if applicable)
- Assist with drafting pleadings and motion materials
- Organize document briefs and disclosure
- Support file progression through litigation stages
Requirements
- Law Clerk Diploma or equivalent experience
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in family law (preferred)
- Strong working knowledge of Ontario family law procedures
- Demonstrated ability to manage files independently with minimal supervision
- Advanced proficiency with:
- DivorceMate
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Adobe Acrobat
- Experience preparing:
- Financial Statements
- Net Family Property Statements
- Disclosure briefs

Compensation
- Hourly Rate: $25 – $35 per hour (commensurate with experience)
- Full-time/part-time available
- Quarterly bonuses available based on firm performance targets
