Full job description

Python Aircraft Data Model Developer - Loads & Dynamics (CONTRACT)

Onsite 3 days a week - subject to change

Bachelor/master's in engineering

Bilingual (French and English)

Required Technical Expertise:

ETL pipeline development and management

Analytics databases

Advanced SQL query writing and optimization

Local deployment environments

Data scaffolding and schema evolution

Data normalization and denormalization techniques

Data modeling (ERD and document modeling)

Indexing strategies and performance optimization

Understanding of OLAP vs. OLTP systems

Metrics monitoring and observability

Backend & API Development:

Fast API framework

Backend system design and architecture

REST API development

HTTP protocols and standards

Apache Arrow protocol

Responsibilities:

Continue the development and refinement of a Python-based aircraft data model

Apply strong object-oriented programming (OOP) principles to design scalable and maintainable software

Manage structured data using formats such as JSON, YAML, and HDF5

Maintain, develop and document methods and in-house software

Collaborate with internal engineering teams to ensure the model integrates effectively with existing tools

Develop tools and ensure compatibility for both Windows and Linux

Document code, data structures, and workflows clearly for future maintainability

Contribute to the evolution of internal standards and practices for data modeling and software development

Qualifications:

You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering or Software Engineering. A high education would be an asset

Knowledge in loads analysis is an asset

Proven expertise in Python programming, with a strong emphasis on object-oriented design

Solid experience working with structured data formats: JSON, YAML, and HDF5

Familiarity with data modeling, serialization, and versioning best practices

Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with technical teams

Experience with Git or other version control systems.

You have experience programming in Matlab, Fortran, or C/C++

You have good organizational skills in planning work activities and completing tasks within budget and on schedule, and can work under pressure

You have good analytical thinking, problem solving, communication skills both written and spoken, in French and English

Responsabilités :

Poursuivre le développement et l’amélioration d’un modèle de données aéronautiques basé sur Python

Appliquer de solides principes de programmation orientée objet (POO) pour concevoir un logiciel évolutif et maintenable

Gérer des données structurées à l’aide de formats tels que JSON, YAML et HDF5

Maintenir, développer et documenter les méthodes internes Logiciel

Collaborer avec les équipes d'ingénierie internes afin d'assurer l'intégration efficace du modèle avec les outils existants.

Développer des outils et s'assurer qu'ils sont compatibles avec Windows et Linux.

Documenter clairement le code, les structures de données et les flux de travail pour faciliter la maintenance future.

Contribuer à l'évolution des normes et pratiques internes en matière de modélisation des données et de développement logiciel.

Qualifications :

Vous détenez un baccalauréat ou une maîtrise en génie aérospatial, mécanique ou logiciel. Un diplôme d'études supérieures serait un atout.

Des connaissances en analyse des charges sont un atout.

Expertise confirmée en programmation Python, avec une solide maîtrise de la conception orientée objet.

Solide expérience des formats de données structurées : JSON, YAML et HDF5.

Connaissance des meilleures pratiques en matière de modélisation, de sérialisation et de gestion des versions de données.

Capacité de travailler de manière autonome et de communiquer efficacement avec les équipes techniques.

Expérience de Git ou d'autres systèmes de contrôle de version.

Pay: $50.00-$55.00 per hour
