Finance System Lead for provincial government agency client, North York.

Target Compensation: From $61 per hour, with some flexibility according to experience.
Regular Work Hours: 7.25 hours per day not including 1 hour unpaid lunch break, to be worked during regular business hours, Monday to Friday (36.25 work hours per week).
Work Location: 100% onsite at client's North York office, with occasional onsite work at Scarborough office.
Travel Requirements: Occasional travel between Scarborough and North York offices as required.
Responsibilities Summary:
Lead implementation of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations (D365 F&O) modules.
- Lead project execution, monitoring and closure with stakeholders. Monitor and report on project progress, identify and mitigate risks, develop risk management plans, conduct risk assessments, and implement mitigation strategies to address potential issues.
- Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with cross-functional teams, including IT, finance, vendors, and operations to ensure seamless integration with existing systems to achieve deliverables.
- Facilitate regular meetings to discuss project progress, address challenges, and align on objectives. Collaborate on integration between D365, Dayforce Payroll and other legacy systems.
- Translate business functional and system integration requirements into system configurations, functional designs, test plans, and other required documents. Support modernization of manual processes and digitization of paper processes.
- Lead completion of system configuration workbooks, functional design and system design documents, while overseeing data cleansing, validation, and reconciliation for data migration and system cutovers.
- Work with vendors to develop training materials, conduct workshops, and provide ongoing support to ensure users are proficient in using Dynamics 365. Train and support end-users to maximize system adoption and efficiency as needed.
- Support management initiatives to ensure the smooth adoption of new system features and processes. Provide input on change management plans and assistance support during transitions.
- Provide additional project management support and financial management expertise as required. Maintain professional awareness of current accounting practices, GAAP, and general business best practices, and advise on related impacts and implications throughout the project.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business, or related field.
Preferred Work Experience: At least 5+ years of progressive experience in full cycle accounting, including financial systems implementation project experience.
Preferred Sector Experience: Experience from an ERP level financial system environment preferred.
Technical and Language Skills Requirements:
- Strong overall proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Familiarity with ERP level financial and payroll applications and systems, to ensure appropriate data maintenance and to create required analyses and reports.
- Strong English communication skills, including advanced level business writing skills, and verbal presentation skills suitable for a diverse range of technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadership.
Task -Based Qualifications and Additional Attributes:
- Demonstrated knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), financial management and planning principles, practices and methods, and related legislation.
- Demonstrated experience with implementing Microsoft Dynamics 365 or similar finance systems.
- Demonstrated proficiency defining project scope and deliverables, coordinating project activities, identifying and mitigating risks, and ensuring project goals are achieved on time and within budget.
- Demonstrated record of professional conduct and character. Responsible, reliable and works to deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal, negotiation and consultation skills to work effectively across teams and establish strong working relationships with all stakeholders, including senior leadership, management and staff.
- Proven ability to professionally handle confidential information and exercise good judgement in the interpretation and application of instructions and organization policy.
- Demonstrated team leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and engage with a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders, at all levels of seniority.
- Strong relationship management skills including client and vendor relations management, business networking, negotiation, change management and consulting/advisory skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work well both independently and collaboratively, and in an advisory capacity, and liaise effectively with a wide and diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.

- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada, providing satisfactory documentation upon request.
- Ability to work 100% onsite, abiding by organization health and safety policies.
- Ability to declare personal Non-Conflict of Interest in execution of assignment responsibilities.
- Provision of certification of AODA and OHSA online training course completion prior to assignment start.
