About the Role
Mansour Canadian Railcar Services Inc., a division of the Mansour Group, is seeking an experienced Railway Shop Supervisor/Foreman to lead daily shop operations in our high-performance railcar repair environment. This is a hands-on, front-line leadership role that is responsible for safety oversight, repair quality, mentorship, and operational efficiency. In this role, you will work directly with the Divisional Manager to plan, organize, and control shop activities while supervising, training, and developing staff.

What You Bring
- A strong commitment to safety and the ability to ensure employees perform their work safely and in accordance with company policies.
- Proven ability to oversee safe and efficient repair procedures in a railcar or industrial environment.
- Experience training, coaching, and mentoring employees to meet company and industry repair standards.
- The ability to build positive employee relations and support adherence to HR policies and procedures.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to maintain an efficient and productive operation that aligns with company goals.
- Experience managing operational costs, labour distribution, and resource planning.
- Hands-on mechanical ability and willingness to assist with repairs.
- Experience supporting regular safety checks and helping maintain a safe work environment.
- Experience conducting regular safety audits and supporting a proactive safety culture in the shop.
- Ability to lead short weekly, daily, and monthly safety conversations with the team on relevant safety topics.
- Comfortable spending most of the workday on the shop floor in a hands-on supervisory role.
Qualifications and Requirements
- 5-10 years of welding and fitting experience, with proven hands-on welding proficiency
- Strong knowledge of mechanical components, repair processes, and safety requirements.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Etc.)
- Shop purchasing/equipment maintenance experience.
- Ability to pass required training, background checks, and drug and alcohol testing.
- Valid Ontario driver’s license with a clean drivers’ abstract.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to stoop for extended periods of time and routinely move from kneeling to standing positions.
- Must be able to wear a respirator.
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs from the ground surface.
- Must be able to climb ladders and perform work at elevated heights.
- Must be able to work in confined spaces.
- Must be able to physically fit into a manway opening as small as 20” in diameter.
- Must be able to work in both a general office environment with moderate noise levels and a shop or outdoor environment with occasional high noise levels.
