ABOUT US

Thorpe Industries is a proud Saskatchewan company and is now one of Western Canada’s leading building envelope contractors, working on major commercial, institutional and industrial projects. Our team takes pride in strong relationships, solid craftsmanship and doing the job right the first time. As we continue to grow, we are looking for talented people to join our team.

THE ROLE

The purpose of the project coordinator is to manage all aspects of construction projects from start to finish, as well as working with all personnel from laborers to owners. Assist in ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in alignment with Thorpe’s financial targets, operational standards, and quality expectations.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

· Set up and maintain accurate, organized project files from handoff through closeout

· Assist with project documentation including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and meeting minutes

· Support cost tracking, purchase orders, and invoice review to ensure accuracy and proper backup

· Help maintain project schedules and coordinate with field staff and subcontractors

· Communicate with internal teams, suppliers, and subcontractors to support project flow

· Assist with progress billing and ensure required documentation is complete and submitted on time

· Support safety, quality, and site coordination initiatives as required

WHAT YOU NEED

EDUCATION

· Diploma or degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field

· Combination of education and relevant construction experience will be considered

· Interest in ongoing learning and professional development in commercial construction

EXPERIENCE

· 1–3 years of experience in commercial construction, coordination, or project support roles

· Experience reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications

· Exposure to budgets, cost tracking, or purchase orders is an asset

· Experience working with subcontractors and suppliers

· Experience using Microsoft Office; experience with construction management or ERP software is an asset

COMPETENCIES

· Attention to detail: Maintains accurate, organized project documentation and consistently ensures information is complete, current, and reliable.

· Planning and organization: Effectively plans daily tasks and supports project schedules to help keep work progressing smoothly.

· Risk awareness: Recognizes potential issues in scope, schedule, cost, or safety and escalates concerns to the Project Manager proactively.

· Task prioritization: Manages multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, adjusting priorities to meet deadlines.

· Clear communication: Communicates clearly and professionally with internal teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to maintain alignment.

· Technical understanding: Demonstrates the ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and basic contract documents.

· Accountability: Takes ownership of assigned responsibilities and follows through on commitments reliably and consistently.
