Job Title: Granite/Marble/Artificial Stone Setter Foreman

Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full-time – Shift Work 40hrs Average/Week

Department: Installation
Reports to: General Manager
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervision and support in relation to established installation goals and quality control for job site work/duties

o Good knowledge about stone types, bonding agents, handling and stone cutting/polishing/bonding equipments.
o Coordinate, schedule and supervise workers to install, shape, finish, service and bond different types of stone products.
o Abilities to resolve work/site problems and provide recommendations to resolve when needed to improve time and quality.
o Quality Control coordination and method of Installation/Delivery with other contractors or subcontractors (i.e. template, bonding agents, transporting, completion of work, safety, etc…) to meet deadlines.
o Information and coordination with Project Managers, manufacturing supervisor, production associates and construction site supervisors to maintain the Installation/Delivery schedule commitments
o Coordination of training for new and current workers in job duties, safety procedures and company policies.

DEPARTMENT SCOPE OF WORK:

Load & off load truck and transport material into project work sites;
Build underbeds and install anchor bolts, wires and brackets if necessary;
Set slabs in position and apply pressure to affix it to base;
Use level, square and straightedges to align and straighten slabs;
Fills all horizontal and vertical seams with epoxy and polyester resin colored to match stone;
Sets tops as close as practical to the same plane as cabinets including cooktops;
Cut, polish and fit granite, marble & artificial marble if needed using hand and power cutting tools;
To use chisel, bush hammer to carve, riffle, letter and cleavering.
Prepare, measure and mark surface to be covered;
Mix, lay and polish terrazzo surfaces.
Remove and replace cracked or damaged slabs;
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications;
Prepare rough plans and sketches;
Mentor junior workers

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
This position will be responsible for the installation of granite, marble, artificial marble and terrazzo slab and large format jobs, foreman must have below experiences:
Skills Level:

Cutting, polishing to fit using power tools.
Able to use chisel, bush hammer to carve, riffle, letter and cleavering.
Transport, handle using Omni Cube.
Level, square to align slab materials to fit parameter.
Level and fill seam with color matching with polyester resin.
Set and bond materials.
Load and off load materials.

Education Level:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and/or four years related experience and or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience;
Ability to read/write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos;
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization;
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals;
Ability to distinguish types of materials and knowledge the proper installation method for each;
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form;
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The position will require the following physical activities on a regular basis: stooping, crouching, reaching, standing, sitting, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, gripping, feeling, talking, hearing, handling and repetitive motions.
The maximum amount of weight required to be lifted will be less than 125 pounds.
There are no special vision requirements.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Indoors in a non-temperature-controlled environment and outdoors exposed to changing weather conditions.
The typical noise level for this job is moderate to very loud.
