We are seeking a talented, driven estimating coordinator to join our Edmonton team!
Reporting to the Chief Estimator in Edmonton, this is an entry-level contract opportunity offering an excellent platform to develop and apply estimating skills, with potential for future career growth. This role has been created to support the team during a temporary leave, while contributing to ongoing project demands in a rapidly growing organization. The anticipated start date for this position is July 6, 2026.
The Estimating Coordinator will gain exposure to a diverse range of project scopes and play a key supporting role in meeting estimating department deliverables as the business continues to expand and outperform within the industry. This position provides the opportunity to engage with a wide variety of stakeholders, including subcontractors, clients, and internal team members.
Responsibilities:
- Monitoring of tender website postings for new projects
- Conduct a high-level review of all incoming tenders
- Create and maintain all bid folders with all updates/addendums to plans and specifications
- Coordinate submission of accurate, well-organized estimates on time following proper processes and procedures with materials and equipment required for job completion
- Support databases including labour rates, material pricing, and project costs
- Support with smaller scale takeoffs and estimates
- Coordinate with fellow estimators, project managers, operations, as well as other project team members to resolve any issues and ensure proper project handover
- Schedule tender opportunities, job showings, site visits, and client meetings as required
- Manage incoming communication requests, direct to correct regional office
- Coordinate and prepare estimating department procurement meetings
- Maintain and update bid list and calendar for bid deadlines/job showings
- Assist with other relevant projects or assigned responsibilities as needed.
Profile Requirements:
- Valid Canadian residency and/or work permit
- Valid driver’s license
- Background in the construction industry, either through education or relevant experience
- Ability to understand tender specifications and documentation to prepare estimates that properly reflect scope of work
- Experience with different estimation software’s is considered an asset
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and time management competence to attentively balance multiple evolving priorities and ensure all deliverables completed on time
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently
- Professional manner and excellent communication interpersonal skills to bridge gaps and build relationships with various internal and external stakeholders.
