We are hiring a Coordinator, Parenting and Family Programs, who is passionate about strengthening families and supporting parents through high-quality, responsive, and trauma-informed programming. This is a unique opportunity to lead and coordinate evidence-informed parenting and family programs while also providing front-line support to families navigating complex challenges, including high-conflict separation and gender-based violence.

Anishinaabe Algonquin Nation

Start date: June 2026 ( approximately one year, with the opportunity for an extension)

Position: Temporary Full-Time Union (Maternity Leave Replacement)

Salary: $64,092.09 to 79,125.75

Hours of Work: 35 hours per week (one evening per week and on-call coverage as required)

ABOUT THE POSITION

The Coordinator, Parenting and Family Programs, is responsible for the overall organization, planning, delivery, and evaluation of FSO-SFO’s parenting and family programming, including the CAS–VAW Collaboration for Parents and Families. The role blends program coordination and leadership with direct service delivery.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Program coordination, planning, and service delivery

Receives inquiries and self-referrals, as well as referrals for services from CASO and other community agencies
Conducts intake assessments for individual (CAS-VAW) and group programs (including Parenting through High Conflict Separation and Divorce)
Reviews and assigns referrals to FSO program staff and/or liaises with CASO to determine the most appropriate service plans/referrals
Provides counselling and coaching to program clients at the FSO office and in the community as required
Provides consultation to CASO employees, with a focus on improving their knowledge (skills and resources) to support parents and families who have experienced gender-based violence
Develops the annual schedule and plan for the Parenting Programs.

Coordinates CASO-VAW referrals, matching clients to appropriate counsellors/ programs, and monitors CAS-V AW availability/ caseloads.
Coordinates parent educators' schedules; responds to requests; provides link between parent educators and the organization
Works with administrative staff regarding the Parenting Program, including, but not limited to, intake and reception
Selects and supports program volunteers

Program Records and Evaluation

Maintains accurate program records and statistical data as required by the agency
Maintains program content and resources for each Parenting Program
Enters program statistical information into FSO's database
Compiles and analyses statistical data for reports, including those required by program funders
Ensures utilization of agency evaluation tools; collects all program evaluations and ensures they are entered into the agency database
Writes program reports as requested by the Program Manager
Maintains participant stories and feedback for agency use
Making recommendations for program development and change to the Program Manager

Administration and Support

Attend community meetings, including CASO POD meetings as requested
Attends community programs team meetings
Attends agency staff meetings
Attends agency professional development sessions as required
Participation in organization committees as required
Responds to and manages intake inquiries and registration requests

ABOUT YOU

You are a collaborative and organized professional with strong clinical judgment and program coordination skills, bringing a trauma-informed, strengths-based, and inclusive approach to working with parents and families.

QUALIFICATIONS

Master’s degree in Social Work, Education, or related field
Registration with OCSWSSW or a relevant body
Counselling and group facilitation experience
Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability/ credentials to provide counselling / psychotherapy (individual and group)
Ability to work as a collaborative team member
Ability to assess, intervene, and defuse potential conflicts
Ability to take initiative and exercise good judgement
Ability to work independently within program guidelines and best practices
Excellent oral, written, and verbal communication in English. Bilingualism in French is considered an asset

Eligibility to work in Canada

• Police Records Check (Vulnerable Sector)
• Evening and weekend work is required
