Within the national geomatics service, you will support the delivery of GIS and cartographic services as part of a multidisciplinary team contributing to environmental studies, impact assessments, permitting, and infrastructure-related projects across Canada. In this GIS Technician (Junior Level), you will work closely with GIS analysts and specialists to prepare maps, maintain geospatial data, and support project teams in a structured, pan‑Canadian environment.

Prepare maps, figures, and tables in accordance with corporate cartographic standards.

Compile, clean, and update geospatial data from multiple sources.

Support data validation and QA/QC activities to help ensure accuracy and consistency.

Digitize, georeference, and organize spatial information and project files.

Assist with basic spatial analysis and map production using ArcGIS Pro.

Maintain metadata and documentation in line with internal procedures.

Collaborate with GIS team members and multidisciplinary project teams to support deliverables.

Diploma, Advanced Diploma, or Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geomatics, Geography, or a related field.

1 to 2 years of relevant professional experience maximum in geomatics or GIS.

Experience with map production, data editing, and geospatial file organization.

Good working knowledge of ArcGIS Pro and familiarity with the Esri suite, including ArcGIS Online and/or ArcGIS Enterprise.

Knowledge of AutoCAD and proficiency with Microsoft Office tools such as Excel and Word.

Understanding of cartographic principles, spatial data management, and basic QA/QC practices.

Exposure to FME or Python is considered an asset.

Ability to work effectively in a team environment and support multiple assignments with guidance.

Strong attention to detail, organization, and willingness to learn.

Expected compensation for this role is between Pay Range $42,400 - $70,600 annually. Base salaries are determined according to several parameters like skills, experience, and potential impact on the role. Internal and external competitiveness are also considered in our offers.
