Full job description

Are you knowledgeable in residential real estate in a fast-paced environment? Would you like to work for a supportive law firm? If so, this opportunity is for you!

A South Edmonton law firm is looking for a Residential Conveyancer - Intermediate

Responsibilities:

Review all Residential Real Estate Contracts
Draft and prepare all documentation pertaining to sale and purchase transactions
Prepare mortgage documents and deal with financial institutions
Communicate with clients, realtors, and financial institutions dealing with inquiries and requests
Request mortgage payout statements
Knowledge and ability to obtain title, tax, and PPSA searches
Draft and calculate Statements of Adjustments
Requisition mortgage funds
Prepare documents for submission to the Land Titles Office
Handle the receipt and disbursement of funds for transactions
Address issues as they arise
Complete the closing of transactions and report to clients and financial institutions
Collaborate with staff members and complete other tasks as required

Skills & Qualifications:

Completion of a Legal Assistant program or equivalent work experience
Conveyancing: 3 years (required)
3+ years of experience as a Legal Assistant in a law firm working on residential real estate transactions
Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask to meet tight deadlines
Ability to work independently with exceptional attention to detail ensuring a high level of accuracy
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work well and thrive in a team environment
Knowledge of SPIN, PC Law, Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel is strongly preferred
Experience with Worldox or other electronic document management systems is an asset
