Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Multi-Program Support (Addictions, Ketamine Therapy, & TMS Therapy)

Envision Mind Care is expanding our team and is seeking compassionate and skilled Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to support multiple roles within our facility. Envision Mind Care is a pioneering mental health and addiction treatment center dedicated to providing innovative, evidence-based care. We are proud to be the first clinic in Alberta accredited by the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA) for Psychedelic-Assisted Psychotherapy and the first to be licensed by the Government of Alberta to provide Psychedelic Drug Treatment Services. Additionally, we hold a Residential Addictions Treatment Services license, allowing us to deliver comprehensive, high-quality care to individuals on their recovery journey.
LPNs hired for this role will be expected to provide support across programs as needed. If you have a preference for a specific area (e.g., Addictions, Ketamine Therapy, or TMS Therapy), please indicate this in your application.
Job Description & Responsibilities:Primary Responsibilities Across All Programs:
- Provide direct care to clients in accordance with established medical protocols.
- Conduct routine monitoring of client well-being, including vital signs and mental status checks.
- Administer medications (IM, PO, sublingual, intranasal) following prescribed protocols.
- Ensure accurate documentation of client progress, treatment sessions, medication administration, and any observed changes in condition.
- Respond to medical and mental health emergencies and escalate concerns as necessary.
- Collaborate with medical, psychiatric, and therapeutic teams to ensure comprehensive client care.
- Maintain compliance with all legal, ethical, and regulatory standards, including CLPNA guidelines and privacy policies.
Position-Specific Responsibilities:
1. LPN – Residential In-Patient Addictions Program
- Work within a structured rehabilitation setting where clients have completed detox and are entering treatment.
- Guide clients through their daily programming, ensuring participation and adherence to treatment plans.
- Offer emotional and psychological support to clients during recovery.
- Serve as the primary responder in case of medical incidents within the residential setting.
- Administer medications, maintain MAR and Narcotic Count records.
- Conduct rating scales with patients, and take vital signs.
- Consult with the physicians and management team consistently.
- Maintain detailed documentation of treatments and ensure compliance with controlled substance regulations.
2. LPN – Ketamine Technician
- Facilitate ketamine treatment sessions for clients undergoing mental health therapy.
- Conduct pre-treatment assessments to confirm client eligibility for ketamine therapy.
- Administer ketamine per established protocols and monitor client safety and response throughout treatment.
- Provide support and guidance during and after ketamine sessions, assisting clients in processing their experiences.
- Maintain detailed documentation of treatments and ensure compliance with controlled substance regulations.
3. LPN – TMS Therapist
- Administer Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) therapy following treatment protocols.
- Conduct mental status assessments and prepare clients for treatment.
- Monitor clients throughout TMS sessions to ensure comfort and safety.
- Document treatment progress, symptom changes, and any side effects.
- Educate clients about TMS therapy, including expectations and treatment benefits.
- Consult with the Medical Director and Physicians consistently.
Qualifications:
- Registered with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA) as an LPN.
- Experience administering IM injections.
- Strong clinical knowledge, with an understanding of mental health and addictions being an asset.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development.
- BCLS certification required; ACLS is an asset.
