About the Role
The Infracon Group of Companies is seeking experienced Rock Truck / Haul Truck Operators for potential upcoming civil construction, mining, and pipeline maintenance work across Western Canada.
This role is best suited for a safety-focused operator with experience operating rock trucks, articulated haul trucks, or similar heavy equipment in active construction, mining, earthworks, or industrial environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely hauling, dumping, and moving materials such as rock, gravel, clay, sand, overburden, and other construction materials throughout project sites.
Our projects may include road construction, earthworks, drainage, mine support work, pipeline maintenance, site development, reclamation, and civil infrastructure upgrades. We are looking for operators who are reliable, aware of their surroundings, and able to work safely around other equipment, haul routes, ground crews, changing site conditions, and active production areas.
This is an excellent opportunity for operators who enjoy varied project work and are open to supporting projects in different locations throughout Western Canada.
Key Responsibilities
Rock Truck / Haul Truck Operation
· Operate rock trucks, articulated haul trucks, or similar equipment safely and efficiently
· Haul and dump materials including rock, gravel, sand, clay, overburden, and other construction materials
· Follow designated haul routes, traffic patterns, speed limits, and site instructions
· Load and dump materials in coordination with excavators, loaders, dozers, graders, and supervisors
· Maintain safe spacing and communication with other trucks, equipment, and workers on foot
· Operate on uneven terrain, slopes, haul roads, active work areas, and changing ground conditions
· Support civil construction, mining, pipeline maintenance, earthworks, road building, drainage, and reclamation activities
Site & Crew Support
· Work closely with supervisors, forepersons, equipment operators, labourers, and traffic control personnel
· Communicate clearly with loading equipment operators and ground crews
· Assist with safe and efficient movement of materials across the project site
· Follow site sequencing and production requirements as directed
· Adapt to changing project priorities, weather, haul routes, and site conditions
· Represent the Infracon Group of Companies professionally on project sites
Equipment Care & Maintenance
· Complete daily pre-use inspections and equipment checks
· Report equipment deficiencies, maintenance issues, damage, or safety concerns promptly
· Maintain equipment in a clean, safe, and work-ready condition
· Follow proper start-up, shut-down, fueling, parking, and maintenance procedures
· Monitor equipment performance throughout the shift and report concerns early
· Operate equipment within safe working limits and manufacturer guidelines
Safety & Compliance
· Follow all company, client, and project safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices
· Participate in daily safety meetings, toolbox talks, field-level hazard assessments, and site orientations
· Maintain strong situational awareness around active equipment, haul roads, workers, slopes, traffic, and changing site conditions
· Use required personal protective equipment at all times
· Identify and report hazards, incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions
· Follow all site-specific traffic management, haul road, dumping, and loading procedures
· Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork
What You Bring
· Experience operating rock trucks, articulated haul trucks, or similar heavy equipment
· Previous experience in civil construction, mining, earthworks, road construction, pipeline, or industrial project environments is considered an asset
· Strong commitment to safe equipment operation and following site procedures
· Ability to work safely around other equipment, haul trucks, ground crews, and active production areas
· Good communication skills and ability to follow direction
· Reliable, punctual, and willing to travel for project-based work
· Ability to remain alert and focused during repetitive haul cycles
· Strong awareness of changing ground conditions, slopes, traffic patterns, and site hazards
· Team-oriented attitude with a willingness to support project needs
Qualifications
· Previous rock truck, haul truck, or articulated truck operating experience is preferred
· Experience in civil construction, mining, pipeline maintenance, road construction, drainage, reclamation, utilities, or earthworks is considered an asset
· Valid Class 5 driver’s licence and reliable transportation are preferred
· Equipment operator training or relevant certifications are considered an asset
· Ground Disturbance, CSTS, WHMIS, First Aid, H2S Alive, or other safety certifications are considered assets depending on project requirements
· Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and site conditions
· Ability to travel to project locations throughout Western Canada as required
· Must be eligible to work in Canada
· Drug and alcohol testing may be required depending on client, site, or project requirements
Working Conditions
· Project-based work in various locations throughout Western Canada
· Potential project areas may include Hope, 100 Mile House, Merritt, Dawson Creek, Kamloops, and surrounding regions
· Work may take place in civil construction, mining, industrial, pipeline, roadwork, reclamation, or remote project environments
· Outdoor work in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, snow, dust, mud, and uneven terrain
· Exposure to active equipment, traffic, noise, haul roads, slopes, excavations, and changing site conditions
· Shift schedules, rotations, overtime, and travel requirements may vary by project
· Living out allowance, camp, travel, or other project-specific arrangements may apply depending on location and project terms
Compensation & Benefits
· Wage range of $26.00 – $32.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications
· Full-time and project-based opportunities may be available

What Success Looks Like
· Materials are hauled, dumped, and moved safely, efficiently, and according to site direction
· Equipment is inspected daily, maintained properly, and kept work-ready
· Haul routes are followed safely with strong awareness of traffic, ground conditions, and other site activities
· Communication with supervisors, loading equipment operators, ground crews, and other truck operators is clear and professional
· Work areas, loading zones, and dump areas are used safely and kept organized
· Hazards are identified early and reported appropriately
· Projects are supported through safe, dependable, and productive haul truck operation
