Full job description

SYSTRA Canada is part of the SYSTRA group, an international consulting and engineering group, a world leader in the design of transport infrastructures. SYSTRA Canada is an engineering and consulting firm whose primary focus is to offer transportation solutions, whether for passengers or goods: feasibility studies of building a new railway line, increasing the capacity of the existing infrastructure, privatization of a railway.

Context:

The role centers on leading project operations end-to-end—aligning engineering, procurement, schedule, budget, and risk to ensure contract-compliant delivery and seamless client communication.

Missions/Main Duties:

Lead production operations with the onsite representative and service providers, ensuring day-to-day execution.
Ensure contract-compliant delivery by coordinating engineering and procurement requests and aligning deliverables.
Monitor and control project progress and schedule, including materials deliveries and warranty issue resolution.
Manage project budgeting and reporting to the executive team and prepare client-facing correspondence and reports.
Maintain the risk register, track out-of-scope work, and prepare proposals for contract change orders.

Profile/Skills:

Education: Completion of a degree in applied science, engineering, or a related discipline – or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent

Years of experience: Minimum of five (5) years project or production management experience related to the manufacture, design, testing, inspection, and commissioning of passenger railcars or 10 years experience for other heavy-duty vehicles.

Technical competencies:

Experience in manufacturing or construction environment a must, preferably in rail or heavy vehicle industries
Clear verbal and written communication skills, both in French and in English*
Reasons for requiring bilingualism: You will have the opportunity to work with a varied clientele, including both French- and English-speaking companies. Bilingualism is therefore fundamental to building strong relationships with our customers, understanding their specific needs, communicating effectively in their preferred language and facilitating strategic meetings.

Personal and soft skills:

Aptitude for coordinating remote activities between multidisciplinary team members
Implement collaborative approach with internal and external members to foster team building and strategic growth
Ability to work with various business partners including: production staff, professional consultants, small to multinational vendors, etc.

Other requirements:

Available to travel to Los Angeles for 1-2 weeks on some occasions.
