THE OPPORTUNITY:

Tundra is excited to announce an opportunity for an Instrumentation Technician, based out of the Estevan, SK office.

REPORTS TO: Instrumentation Coordinator

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

Monitoring, benchmarking and evaluating technology and field instruments to ensure proper operation, continuous improvements and reliability.
Coordinating and effecting the monitoring, installation, service, and reconditioning of a variety of equipment, instruments, and control systems.
Performing repairs, installations, and any work required to set up, align or otherwise prepare for operation.
Performing operational checks, monitoring performance, troubleshoot and related maintenance to identify and diagnose process and equipment issues.
Optimizing performance of equipment by monitoring the effectiveness and making corrective recommendations regarding instrumentation and electronic performance problems
Coordinate and oversee field activities/installations being performed by other contractors.
Participate in upgrades of existing facilities (e.g. injection/disposal well conversions, battery improvements, etc.).
Other related duties as required.

WHAT YOU NEED:

High School Diploma or equivalent
Instrumentation Technician Trade Certificate or Diploma is considered an asset
Valid class 5 driver’s license
Oil and Gas experience considered an asset
Knowledge in the following areas:
- Instrument/electrical maintenance and repair
- PLC’s and HMI’s with ability to read programming code
- VFD’s and related control wiring schemes
- Communication protocols and related wiring, TCP/IP, ControlNet, Modbus, CANBus
- Industrial Radio communications systems, namely in the 900Mhz and 5.2Ghz range

OTHER DETAILS:

This position is primarily field based, and the successful incumbent must be prepared to work in all weather conditions and remote locations
Required to participate in the on-call schedule for emergency situations or after-hours breakdowns or repairs
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Work under pressure with tight deadlines
Ability to workover time as necessary
