Full job description

We are seeking a Grinder for one of our clients in Concord, ON. Reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor, associate would be responsible for all facets of a 1-shift custom Injection molding department.

Job Summary:

The role of a Production Associate is integral to the manufacturing process, contributing to the successful production of polymer resin pellets for plastic molding while adhering to quality and safety standards.

Job Responsibilities:

Adhere to corporate safety policies and procedures
Ensure to turn the grinder on prior to grinding
Inspect parts prior to grinding to avoid contamination by ensuring that there are no foreign components such as metal clips, plastic clips, felt, foam, rubber etc. attached to parts.
Ensure that grinding area is clean at all times
Regrind Material must be covered &amp; clearly marked with internal part number Power down grinder after use
Ensure that grinder is completely clean by disassembling the front cover, cleaning inside the chamber, blade area, hopper, etc.to avoid contamination during change over to different grade of resin
Wear all safety PPE, Shoes, Gloves, Safety Glasses, Mask, Ear muff
Knock down empty gaylords and clean the area
Assist material handler if there is time to empty the scarp bins
Notify Supervisor if grinder is not functioning normally (excessive noise, excessive dust particles in regrind mixture, smoke, etc.,
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

Cleaning of Grinders

Turn off main power switch and unplug grinder and lock out main disconnect
Wear all safety PPE, Gloves, Safety Glasses, Mask, Ear muff while operating grinder
Ensure to follow LOTO procedure when cleaning the grinder
If required remove remaining regrind from drawer and store in raw material storage area.
Using vacuum, thoroughly clean drawer and corners of drawer of all particles.
Disassemble grinder, ensuring blades and screen are free of previous material using vacuum.
Replace and tighten all articles that were removed
Sweep the grinder area to ensure all pellets have been removed
Plug grinder in and turn on main power switch to proceed with grinding.
Perform other duties assigned by reporting manager

Skills:

No color vision deficiency
Must be familiar with all types of resins used and is responsible for the correct material being ground, labeled and stored
Basic understanding of IATF 16949, ISO 14001 company quality &amp; environmental policies and expectations
Familiar with Forms, Tags and Labels governing job function

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour

Work Location: In person
