About the Job:
Type: Full time, Permanent
Sign on Bonus: $3,000 paid out half after 30 days and half after 1 year
Wage: $44/hr + $2/hr shift premium for afternoon schedule
Shifts: Monday - Friday, Swing Shift 2 weeks on days (6 am to 2:30 pm) 2 weeks on afternoons (2:30 pm – 11 pm)

Summary
The Technician IV/ Diesel Mechanic performs major and technically difficult diagnostics, repairs, and overhauls/rebuilds in a timely manner; ensuring quality, time standards, customer expectations, cost guidelines and reliability goals are met. The T4 works on assignments requiring considerable judgment and mentors other Ryder technicians on a regular basis. The Technician IV provides the highest level of experience and expertise in vehicle diagnostics and repair. The position also plays a key role in the leadership, development and training of other grade technicians. The T4 may specialize in areas such as: refrigeration, electronics, exhaust systems, etc., and should possess a combination of extensive vehicle transportation experience, ASE certifications, and/or multiple Ryder Qualifications.
Essential Functions
- Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties
- Interacts with customers/drivers to properly determine the nature of complaint once assigned a task
- Performs facility maintenance duties
- Utilizes key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation available
- Works in accordance with all federal/ provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (i.e., safety, DOT, MOT)
- Other support duties as required to support operations. These could include but are not limited to Service Island support.

- Ability to demonstrate proficiency with advanced diagnostics, overhaul and repair of all vehicle components and systems

- Available for on call duty and work shift work/weekend

Qualifications
- H.S. diploma/GED preferred
- Vocational or Technical Certification preferred Post Secondary degree or Technical Certifications
- Basic tools, required
- Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines including:- Routine preventative maintenance, which should include oil changes, brake and tire work- Diagnostics and repairs, including AC, electrical systems,- Advanced skilled level repairs to include some major engine repairs, diesel after treatment or automotive fuel injection repairs required
- Four (4) years or more relevant work experience preferred
- Knowledge of and the ability to apply knowledge of computer skills: PC, Windows, mouse, etc.advanced required
- Valid Commercial Driver License (AZ) or G Driver License
- All other certification as required by location, required
