JUNIOR LOGISTICS COORDINATOR
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The logistics coordinator is responsible for organizing, implementing, and analyzing systems, using company processes to manage the storage and transportation of inventory and ensure high customer satisfaction. Communication with stakeholders and demonstrative organizational and time management skills is fundamental to succeed in this position.
STRUCTURE:
The Logistics Coordinator reports to the Senior Manager, Procurement and Logistics
SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITY:
- Coordinate and monitor supply chain operations
- Utilize logistics IT to optimize procedures
- Supervise orders and arrange stocking of raw materials and equipment to ensure they meet needs
- Research suppliers
- Communicate with suppliers, retailers, customers etc. to achieve mutual satisfaction
- Plan and track the shipment of final products according to customer requirements
- Keep logs and records of warehouse stock, executed orders etc.
- Prepare accurate reports for management
- Coordinate timely and accurate shipments
- Ensure accuracy of orders and shipping documents
- Identify and fix shipping errors
- Prepare bills and invoices
- Receive orders and add to inventory
- Deal with border issues and approvals
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Proven experience as logistics coordinator
- Strong customer service
- Knowledge of laws, regulations and ISO requirements
- Ability to work with little supervision and track multiple processes
- Computer-savvy with a working knowledge of logistics software (ERP)
- Outstanding organizational and coordination abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Capable of multi-tasking
- Demonstration of working with international shipments and border agencies is a must
- Ocean logistics is a major asset
