Tri-global Solutions Group Inc. is seeking one (1) Digital Architect (Justice Digital) to join our talented Service Delivery team with the Ministry of Justice (Government of Alberta).
WORK MODEL: The successful candidate(s) will work onsite 5 days per week at John E. Brownlee Building, 10365 – 97 Street, Edmonton, Alberta. Work must be done from within Canada, due to network and data security policies. Standard Hours of work are 08:15 – 16:30 Alberta time.

PROJECT OVERVIEW
Project Name:
Justice Digital
Scope:
The Justice Digital Program Services team provides reusable components and common services to help other product teams ‘go faster’. It supports alignment across digital services and enables digital at scale.
DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES
- Lead the solution architecture of digital services by:
o Developing the overall architectural plan, ensuring a citizen-centered design and agile software approach;
o Uncovering existing system context;
o Providing recommendations and prototypes for technical discovery and feasibility;
o Providing and being accountable for the solution designs that account for iterative implementation; and o Analyzing impacts, exposure, and risk as it pertains to the solution design.
- Guide the team in the implementation of digital services by:
o Facilitating frequent delivery of products to ensure that the target architecture is successfully created;
o Determining the tactical approach on each integration and the target state of system boundaries and interactions;
o Identifying opportunities to leverage common components and capabilities of other digital services;
o Encouraging team contribution towards developing opportunities to leverage other digital services;
o Providing guidance on the creation of detailed designs for solution implementation;
o Reviewing code changes;
o Contributing to code changes in order to implement user stories and to complete technical tasks; and
o Providing coaching and mentorship to the product team.
- Contribute to the architectural vision for a platform of user-centric services, particularly as it relates to the use of common components and capabilities to accelerate service delivery.
- Contribute to the development of principles, metrics, and standards for service quality and delivery.
- Provide software architecture information to technical and non-technical audiences by creating materials (documents, diagrams, presentations, etc.) appropriate to the audience.
- Actively participate in the development and continuous improvement of the architecture practice.
MANDATORY SKILLS
– Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related field of study equivalencies will be considered. (Yes or No)
– Experience as a software architect, leading the design and delivery of enterprise-scale solutions using modern development stacks in complex organizational environments. (5 years+)
– Experience with containerization, orchestration, and infrastructure-as-code practices for cloud or hybrid environments. (5 years+)
– Experience working with teams that also apply UX design, service design, design thinking, or human-centered design approaches. (5 years+)
– Proven ability to define and communicate solution architecture for large-scale systems, including integrations, modernization strategies, and cloud-native design patterns. (5 years+)
DESIRABLE / NICE TO HAVE SKILLS
– Experience and technical knowledge of the Microsoft .NET Framework. (5 years+)
– Experience applying secure development practices and managing identity and access using role-based or attribute-based access control and Zero Trust Architecture principle. (4 years+)
– Experience designing and managing APIs, including RESTful services and system integrations. (5 years+)
– Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines with automated testing, deployment, and observability. (4 years+)
– Experience incrementally transforming existing legacy systems into modern digital services across multiple releases. (6 years+)
– Experience working with both relational and non-relational databases, including schema design and performance optimization. (4 years+)
– Experience working within public sector digital service frameworks or enterprise architecture standards. (3 years+)
