PRESTO is an electronic transit fare payment system in the Greater Toronto, Hamilton and Ottawa areas that eliminates the need for tickets, passes and cash. PRESTO serves more than 5 million customers across 11 transit agencies and processes over $2.5 billion in fares through 67 million boardings per month (pre-pandemic). Today, PRESTO offers one of the most globally advanced fare payment systems in the world having delivered new ways to pay for customers, including real time PRESTO Contactless with credit and Interac debit and PRESTO in Mobile Wallet across its transit agency clients, including the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC). Enhancing the customer experience through continuous improvement while working with our transit agency clients to support their needs, and maintaining a system that performs exceptionally, continue to drive PRESTO toward making transit better for all.
Our Payments (PRESTO) Operational Readiness team is looking to hire a Senior Business Analyst, reporting to the Manager, Deployment to lead the planning, execution, oversight, closure, reporting and successful transition of all software releases to production, including major releases, maintenance releases, patches operating system and firmware updates.
What will I be doing?
- Responsible for coordinating efforts with all stakeholders to ensure they are properly resourced for a successful deployment with a focus on minimizing central system, web and IVR channels and device downtime. Responsible for leading status meetings as necessary before, during and after release deployments to report on KPIs and communicate system stability during this critical timeframe.
- Working with appropriate groups and vendors to identify software patch/maintenance requirements and their impact while coordinating release dates and producing known error database. Identifying risks to production as it relates to managing software release scope in terms of impact on Central System, Digital Channels, Devices and overall outage risks.
- Responsible for reporting status of software rollout activities including reporting on KPIs on a regular basis. Responsible to provide reporting and updates as necessary to the appropriate governance structures.
- Participate in Pre-Production and Production Validations as required
- Facilitating, leading, or participating in business process changes associated with system deployment, including developing and justifying business cases, the allocation of work, and the acquisition of resources.
- Strive to meet or exceed delivery targets with a focus on constant improvement.
- Identifying risks associated with the business and any potential impact on the PRESTO operation.
- Managing communications between Clients, vendors, internal and stakeholders.
- Tracking PRESTO Pre-Production and Production Change Notices related to deployment - including interacting with both external vendors and internal customers to ensure timely tracking, responses and follow-up is completed as needed to keep the process moving forward.
- Liaise and represent the Deployment team in project meetings and upcoming releases.
What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need?
- Completion of a degree or diploma in Business, Computer Science/Information Technology, or a related discipline – or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent.
- Demonstrated years’ work experience providing a solid background in business analysis and project management as it pertains to the development and delivery of fare payment systems supporting corporate systems.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or Scrum Master certification will be considered as an asset.
- In-depth knowledge of the SDLC will be considered as an asset.
- Knowledge of software deployments, problem, and incident management.
- Understanding of process improvement principles and methodologies (e.g. LEAN, Agile, etc.)
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with excellent written/oral communication and presentation skills; strong team leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency with MS Office, PowerPoint, Visio, and Project.
- A valid Ontario Class “G” drivers’ license is required.
- Requires availability outside of regular office hours to gather data in remote locations where staff are on a shift schedule.
