Position Summary:

We are currently seeking a Document Controller for our Calgary, AB office. This is a new vacant position for which we are actively recruiting. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Essential Job Functions:

Maintain and update electronic filing tracking system. Quality checks documents such as drawings, reports, and calculations to verify completeness and conforms to document standards.
Provide routine document control support, such as assisting others and resolving and/or referring a range of document problems and inquiries.
Organize and prioritize assignments and take initiative to follow through on pending items.

Research questions and problems regarding departmental policies and procedures.
Create, update and maintain files, inventories, records, and other documents.
Perform QA checks on all outgoing docs based on our Quality Procedures.
Confer with document originators or engineering liaison personnel to resolve discrepancies and compile required changes to documents.
Responsible for ensuring that all documents are stored in the proper locations.
Organize workflow to ensure that documents and packages are submitted on time prior to the documents submission due date.

Required Qualifications:

3+ years of Administrative and/or Document Control experience is considered an asset.
Must have experience in Microsoft Office including expert knowledge in Word, Excel, and Access.
Experience in an office environment utilizing general office equipment such as photocopiers, scanners, printers, faxes and shredders.
Experience with Meridian is considered an asset.
Must be able to obtain security clearance.
Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal; strong listening skills.
Ability to follow detailed directions in a fast-paced environment, taking requests from many people at varying levels of authority.
Effective problem-solving skills.
Experience in an engineering consulting firm is considered an asset.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to sit or stand as required and remain in a stationary position for at least 50% of the workday.
Frequent use of hands and fingers to handle, manipulate, or feel objects, including continuous operation of a computer and other standard office equipment such as calculators, copiers, and printers.

Work Environment / Environmental Factors:

The majority of work is performed in a professional office setting.
Periodic travel may be required and could involve limited exposure to extreme temperatures. Travel may include air travel, during which the employee may be required to remain seated for extended periods.

The salary range for this position is $50,000 to $70,000. Please note that Tetra Tech considers various factors in determining pay, including but not limited to: education, relevant and demonstrated work experience in the role, skills, geographic location, qualifications, certifications, and other competencies relevant to the needs of the business.
