Position Summary
We as the Defence & Security supports the Royal Canadian Navy (RCN) through its In‑Service Support (ISS) programs. Through the Arctic and Offshore Patrol Ships & Joint Support Ships (AOPS & JSS) In‑Service Support (AJISS) and the Minor Warships & Auxiliary Vessels (MWAV) programs, we provide support to over 70% of the RCN fleet. We are leveraging cutting‑edge solutions to deliver preventive and corrective maintenance, Integrated Logistics Support (ILS), Program Management, Engineering, Life‑Cycle Material Management (LCMM), and new capability insertion across multiple naval platforms.
The Requirements Management team is central to AJISS program success, ensuring that all contractual, technical, and regulatory requirements are systematically captured, traced, verified, and controlled throughout the vessel support lifecycle. We are building a dedicated team to establish enterprise-wide requirements visibility, support performance incentive achievement (SRVF), and maintain audit-ready compliance documentation.
You will join the Requirements Management team located at our facility in Canada, collaborating with stakeholders within the Government of Canada and the Department of National Defence (DND), as well as engineering and integrated project teams, to deliver mission-critical requirements management capabilities. In this role, you will gain hands‑on experience on large‑scale naval programs while helping shape requirements that directly impact fleet readiness and operational capability.
Essential Functions / Key Areas of Responsibility

- Ensure requirements are unambiguous, feasible, testable, and verifiable.
- Develop and maintain requirements specifications and related artefacts within a requirement management tool.
- Ensure bidirectional traceability between requirements and architecture, design, verification, and validation artefacts.
- Perform and review requirements decomposition, including coverage and gap analysis.
- Plan and participate in requirements reviews, walkthroughs, and sign‑off activities with engineering and customer representatives.
- Review proposed requirement changes and associated impact analysis, and support requirements change and baseline management activities in accordance with configuration management processes.
- Support requirements baseline management and change activities, including impact analysis and configuration control.
- Assist subject matter experts in producing high-quality, detailed requirements and related engineering artefacts.
Typical assignments may include managing requirements for a defined capability area, supporting audits or compliance reviews through traceability evidence, and coordinating requirements updates.
