ROLE

As the primary contact person, the Unit Clerk I coordinates unit activities to promote relationships with patients, visitors and healthcare professions. In addition, the Unit Clerk contributes to the efficient function of the Unit primarily through effective clerical and communication activities.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & CERTIFICATION(S)

Two year Medical Office Administration Diploma

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE(S)

Minimum one-year experience in a healthcare setting
Medical terminology
Computer literate with a working knowledge of the Meditech Information System and Microsoft Office Applications
Well-developed verbal, written and interpersonal skills
Ability to plan, organize and prioritize work, multi-task and be flexible
Ability to work independently or side-by-side with other members of the healthcare team pleasantly and interact professionally with peers, patients and other departments

Location: Clinton Public Hospital located in Clinton, Ontario & Seaforth Community Hospital located in Seaforth, Ontario.

Department: Inpatient Unit & Emergency Department

Hours of Work: 8-hour shifts in Clinton & 12-hour shifts in Seaforth, 7 day/week coverage, may be subject to change
